Funeral for Ghanaian London explosions victim announced

Accra, Aug. 2 GNA - The Ghana High Commission in conjunction with the Wundowa and Addae families in London and Ghana have released funeral arrangements for the late Gladys Wundowa, the Ghanaian, who perished in the London explosions of July 7 2005.
A statement signed by Minister-Counsellor (Information) at the Commission, Mr Ivor Agyeman-Duah said there would be a laying in state and memorial service at the Methodist Central Hall, opposite the British Houses of Parliament on August 13, 2005 from 0600 hours to 2200 hours. The body would be flown to Avenui-Awudome in the Volta Region, Ghana on August 15 for burial and funeral rites.
According to the statement the High Commissioner, Mr Isaac Osei, who met with the bereaved family at the Commission earlier in the week, would lead the Government delegation to the memorial church service in London.
He expressed the hope that the Ghanaian Community would attend the service and show love to the family in its distressed times. The High Commissioner said attendance would register the Ghana's abhorrence to using violence and death as weapons of protest. He gave the assurance to Mr Emmanuel Wundowa, the widower, that the circumstances of Gladys's death was such that the Commission had to do all within its power for her transition.
