I am sorry for what is been written. Is there one around to slap the writer from behind on that thing he wrote/ posted. He should not get me upset or interrupt the agenda of the current Ghanaian government in power with the job he is mentioning are in the gulf countries. Does he know what is happening in over here the discrimination going on? We want the jobs to be created by the government of Ghana in our home land Ghana and not jobs someone is creating else where for you recruiters to to recruit for their selfish gain. The lies you people keep posting must be stop. Deceiving Ghanaian youth. Yes traveling is good being employed by a company where you earn something to cater for your family fine enough but you can not wake up to say government of Ghana to use recruitment of Ghanaian to overseas to generate money into the government account.
I will advice the youth to acquire HND,BECTECH,DEGREE.....etc.in all field of work profession. Home sweet home.90% of the things recruiters say are total lies. It is God who has destiny everyone his or her place of stay on this planet earth.
Government must arrest these selfish gain recruiters.
I rest my case here

Are you kidding me? The writer did not criticize the government's plans, he offered other suggestions to complement governments efforts. There are lots of positives in what he wrote, you are only refusing to see them for whatever reasons. It is not only Kenya and Uganda that has done this, the Philippines (using their large supply of nurses), Egypt (teachers and other professional) and India (doctors and IT professionals). More opportunities are better than just one narrow measure which is yet to be implemented to the full.

Why are we throwing the bath water with the baby? I think we can pick out the good in the piece. In fact, I will add soccer players to the twist. There are tons of great soccer players meandering through life in our villages and towns who can earn good money by playing in the foreign lands. We can also create good jobs right here at home so that our youth will stay home and work.I'm talking about the medical tourism. All we need is a world class hospital with a zoo and other natural amenities where all medical procedures be done cheaply (with a fraction of what they cost in the developed countries.). This will bring patients from all over the world to get the medical procedures done,as long as the quality is the same..This single industry not only can keep our medical professionals home but, create other secondary industries like: hotel, barbershops, restaurants ,communication, transportation, Carpentry, construction workers, laundry workers, personal security ,book stores, airport helpers and all the jobs we travel to the Arabs countries to do. We have to learn how to think outside the box sometimes.
No one wants to travel to look for jobs but when you can't find them at home you need to feed your family so something needs to be done. They need to join the whiners Club and possibly die in the middle of an ocean. That is the sad part of this episode.

Abakari Arashid,
We read you and understand perfectly what you mean. It ain't easy in those Gulf states, surely. We wish you and hope you will be able to return to home safely having realized your dreams.
Now, this for Mr. Kwaku Addai Tardieh.
Mr. Tardieh makes some important points, and your recommendations are right on point.
In short, the Government of Ghana ought to do more to ensure workers Ghanaian workers and their families are able to benefit better from employment overseas, with better protection of their interests. In fact, we know that Filipino musicians by the 100s travel overseas to play music on several international circuits and do return at the end of each tour, with lots of foreign exchange for their country.
However, that you will stoop low and in any way find it it both reassuring that "Hon Osafo Marfo, Senior Minister of the Republic of Ghana stated that a 10 Billion Dollar facility Ghana arranged with China could generate about 100,000 jobs", is quit perplexing to us.
What type of jobs at what types of incomes did the minister talk about with respect to the "100,000 jobs"? Is that not important to know?
What percent of Ghanaians would have specific types of those jobs?
More important, how and why is it reassuring when each job will in practical terms be purchased at $100,000?
