  Of late I have been been writing about President Akufo-Addo having no point of reference in his desire to transform the country. By a point of reference I mean a personal experience in one's life that has become sets of standards for a life lived.
  
  A leader who has lived in predominantly crime infested society, crime becomes an acceptable standard and norm for him. On the other hand, a leader who has lived in society where law and order prevail will be outraged by the breakdown of law and order.
  
  Had Akufo-Addo lived extensively in abroad and experienced a true democracy where law, order, and good government prevail, there is no doubt in my mind that will be his point of reference in governing this country. Those of us who live in a true democracy know how it feels like to live in a true democracy.
  
  Where there is no law and no order there is no democracy. All the three tenets of democracy; law, order, and good government must be present in a country's administration before it can call itself a democracy. And if you have a leader like Akufo-Addo whose exposure to true democracy is negligible then these crimes are business as usual to him and his NPP people.

  Stop jailing hen thieves, goat thieves and food thieves to make more room for these other criminals who have no regard for the lives of others. The court should consider giving these hardened criminals stiffer sentences, and the government needs to do more to equip police officers throughout the country. The Police are doing their best, but more officers and better equipment and decent pay will go a long way to help them get better tackle the crime menace plaguing the entire nation.
