Visitors to ghanaweb may have noticed the gaping absences of, especially, Okoamapa and, of late, Kwarteng. The two are among the most prolific writers to this site and no matter what you think of each of them, their prolonged absences must be a source of concern for lovers and regulars of this site.
I have asked around but nobody seems to know why Okoampa is no longer sending his articles to the site. Some people said he may have been neck deep with his normal work and didn't have time to write. This doesn't seem to be true. Okoampa will write an article even if he is on his deathbed and has been told that he only has a few breaths left. No amount of work will prevent him from writing.
Besides, for all the times that he has been absent from ghanaweb, he has posted two or three articles daily to modernghana (a site that allows its regular contributors to post their own articles). As I write this, Okoampa has a count of 3466 articles on modernghana with a new one today - more than he has on ghanaweb for which he started writing long before the founding of modernghana. And Okoampa is never scared of insults...
So what is wrong, folks? Anybody knows the answer?
Kwarteng has also not been seen on ghanaweb for far longer than his "normal" rate of appearance. He has not posted anything on modernghana (where he has a "mere" 535 publications) either since May 30. I hope he is not unwell and will come back.
Well, I think we should find some answers to this if they don't come out themselves to explain their absences. Even if you don't like what they write, you still do not want them just to go away like that. Their absences make ghanaweb a much poorer place...
