It is really disgusting to hear seasoned politicians, journalists, radio presenters and social commentator keeping their listeners in suspense at all times. My worries with those loose talks, such as that of Kwaku, is that, why do you give hints of "sacrid" documents you intercept to the public domain if : 1. You doubt the authenticity of same or 2. If you are not ready to provide details or name names?
But I see their problem. Either it is a complete act of cowardice or a sinister ploy to criminally negotiate with the allege culprits at a round table discussion for bribery and cover up.
I sincerely believe the later is the means through which these loud mouth 'towncriers' come by their ill-gotten riches; they collude with criminals to share the spoil. Such is the Ghana journalist for you
I overhead Kwame Sefa Kaye saying on his Kokrokoo program, a fortnight ago, that " they will kill you if you dare expose or mention names". I clinched when I heard Kwame, the Akwapim-Trokosi cross breed, of all people chichen-out in such a manner.
How wise would it be for a Criminal to strike the whistle blower dead after his name is exposed to the general public than for him/her to take a swift action of destruction before the public got to know the names of who and who is behind a crime? Hope you get my drift, their reader!
It is about time the Whistle Blower muster the courage to mention names or shut up.

In advanced democracies, you don't need permission or you don't need to be told before publishing the truth, even if it involves the president.

This pure fantastic "wishful thinking".
Name any African country where "TRUTH or JUSTIFICATION" is RESPECTED, ACCEPTED and
held as CARDINAL!

Gbeshie,
Our premise is, President Akufo Addo has told Ghanaians he is a different leader with respect to these matters.
Sure, we understand that given the history and the records, journalism in Ghana is a very difficult occupation.
However, Mr. Duodu's essay lacks any pointers to why Baako (and Anas) are withholding information because they may be sued for "libel". Unless we missed something, none of the Baako quotes talk about "libel". As such, from where we sit, the more valid reason Baako is "withholding" information is to walk in the Frantz Fanon money-lined gutter ---- to sell more newspapers, before the "Anas-Blockbuster-Event".
For the sake of all Ghanaians and protection of the Peoples natural resources, we hope whatever the "Anas-Blockbuster-Event" exposes, that President Akufo Addo is able to act to preserve and protect those same "depletable" interests.
This is definitely not "chicken-little".
Greetings!

Who would have thought that there would ever be a Special Prosecutor in Ghana when there isn't on in Britain? But we shall soon have one. We have ur own brains in Ghana and we shall use them to the best of our ability, despite cynics like you dismissing us as uncouth Africans.

Baako has a "track record" of delivering the "real meal" after serving "spicy appetizers".
Nobody can RUSH him, simple as that!
Hyperventilating curiosity just have to WAIT!

Mr Duodu,
Thanks for exposing Baako's tabloid, political pornography that passes for professional journalism in today's Ghana.
Baako is simply a notorious Presstitute (apologies to distinguished US economist and progressive journalist, Paul Craig Roberts) shilling for NPP in an imperfect democracy! If our democracy was perfect, as your own NPP doctrinaire bias obliges you to brazenly proclaim, then there would be no lynching, no vigilantism/domestic terrorism, no government (both NPP and NDC) collusion with illegal Chinese mining interests. Democracy, as you know all too well, is not just elections but also the rule of law and the functioning of state institutions according to the law!!!

I am sure Mr Duodu would welcome healthy criticism based on greater knowledge than he possesses. But merely to ASSERT -- without any evidence -- that the guy is not as good as he was some time ago, is absolute crap.
He's got in years, soo what? Can you guarantee that when you reach his age, you will be abe to think as clearly as he does today?
Mocking old age is stupid. You will either reach it yourself or you won't.
In either case, you won't have much to say about it. It will just grab you, and do pray that you'll have all your faculties intact! For whatever you do, you will never become an UNCHANGING STONE!
