Unfortunately, it is a law that protects our vampire-elites, not Mother Ghana - which is why we must pressurise our leaders to publicly publish their assets and those of their spouses voluntarily.

The looting of our country by greedy and ruthless people in governments of the day will never stop as long as that ridiculous law remains in its present form.

If President Akufo-Addo and his wife publicly publish their assets it will put pressure on all his appointees to follow suit.

That is why he will probably be prevented by his party's leadership from doing so.

But if he is wise he should ignore them and do so - and secure a place fr himself in the Pantheon of great Ghanaian leaders for so doing.

Don't forget that the John Boadus, the Freddie Blays and their ilk, were quite bold to tell the world - when they knew that power was within their reach - that under no circumstances would they publicly publish their assets.

Makes you wonder what the real motives of such individuals are for venturing into politics, does it not?

Anyway, since our consciences are not for sale at any price, some of us in the Ghanaian media will continue to speak truth to power regardless - and speak out against high-level corruption whenever we get wind of it.

Look up the definition of sincere and then tell us which of the men who have held political offices in Ghana deserve to be called anything but thieves or at best not deserving of being called enablers of crime? Lets look at the top 4 of our leaders who most of the living today do know:
J.J. Rawlings - Went from his air force salary to owning everything not bolted to the ground including taking CPP properties and that of others. We found out also he took US$3-5 million from a crooked Nigerian politician; what a cowardly hypocritical wannabe statesman.
John Kufour - came into office poor and left owning a piece of every thing but had the nerve of a brass monkey to reward himself with a gold medallion.
Atta-Mills (late) - the see no evil, hear no evil president allowed people in his NDC administration to steal through government contracts and procurements; an enabler in chief
John Mahama - Saw nothing wrong with taking gifts and allowing his brother to use the name of his office to rake in money on shoddy work. Because of his enabler approach he gave reason for his Regional and district administrators to skim money off monies meant for development projects in their respective district and regions.
Nana Akufo-Addo - As leader of the NPP prior to the 2016 elections he allowed his inner circle band to use NPP accounts as his private stash. Today as president and under his watch we have NPP goons calling themselves Delta Forces or Invincible Forces go around terrorizing the courts and other citizens all while he Nana Akufo-Ado is content that a branch of government can be mistreated. His answer was to rewards the Delta Force terrorists in the name of party. His blood relative the finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is on record being the first to make some US$25 million on the deal which refinanced the Mahama-era Ghana loan.
Who then are those noble, sincere and honest men Kofi? You cannot ask people to declare their assets after the fact Kofi Thompson and leave grown up decisions to grown up folks.
