Your family also contributed to Mahama’s fall – Bobie tells Lord Hammah

Journalist and radio presenter, Nana Kwabena Bobie-Ansah has taken a swipe at young outspoken member of the NDC party, Lord Hamah on the latter’s scathing attack on former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, saying the latter’s family cannot delink itself from the problems Mahama is accused of by his critics.

“He who comes into equity must come with clean hands,” he told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Lord Hamah, has said Ghanaians incompetence in government soared in the last eight years in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) era.

“The NDC record in government is a scandal,” Mr Hammah wrote in a tirade, adding: “We need to accept that to move forward.”

“For eight years, especially the last four years, we witnessed a kind of political incompetence unrivalled in Ghana’s history,” he observed.

He also pointed to what he described as the “intoxication that took over the heads of youthful government appointees.”

He said under Mr John Mahama as president, “there was no collective governance.” He added the NDC “became a slavish whore to state power…Key power brokers who were fattening on the foliage of state life did not even have any idea on the location of the national party office, not to talk of their constituency offices!”

But Bobie Ansah responding to Hammah’s attacks on the largest opposition NDC said the former and his family also shared in the crisis Mahama faced in his administration, that crumbled his government.

“Lord Hammah is a brother to the former Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah who was sacked after a leaked tape revealed her infamous plan to make $1 million before quitting politics.

“So you can see that the backlog of issues that ended the tenure of Mr Mahama did not start 2012. You’ll realize that the baggage that Mahama carried that caused his downfall didn’t start 2012. It practically started from 1979 through to 1982 to 2000, when they left office. Then the Mills’ baggage also contributed to the extent that in the year 2015, the heap of problems that Mahama faced was overwhelming. So if they are pointing accusing fingers they should look into their life, their deeds, actions and inactions also, which somewhat has affected the Mahama administration.”

“That notwithstanding he said: “I don’t take out the fact that the JM administration made some mistakes. And for me, I want to put this on record that Mr. John Mahama must also make some corrective measures in his actions. I’ll expect those who support the JM course to be frank and candid with the matter that we can look in the eyes of JM and tell him that, Look man, you have been wrong in some matters.”
