History was not stated here to address the calamities that has bedevil our precious country.Oh frankly speaking.One man stood up in the name of cleaning our society by killing innocent people,sold all our working industries and put locks on those that were not sold to rot and him not satisfy confiscate private individual industries and companies to render Ghanaians jobless is the result of the galamsey you are talking about.The lawless was not from the government but from evil uncivilized people who are power drank and don't respect rule of law.Evil people who loot state money to enrich themselves and don't have the nation at heart is behind this evil phenomenon.Human history does not erase from our memories it trigger when a statement is made.Without history there is no society and we learn from history when it is include in conversation but when we pretend to ignore it sent a wrong signal to repeat those mistakes.

It is indeed sad that one of the UNCOUTH elements responsible for creating the kind of red flags Zanetor is warning against should steal my name and initials again to write his crass insulting nonsense against responsible people who have been writing against the ethnocentricism, bigotry and propensity to violence of the NPP tradition and elements. Of course, I was foremost in writing about these things since the 1990s. Yes, the chickens are simply coming home to roost.

I had already published on Ghanaweb too two series on the Rwandan/Burundian genocides. Of course, the Hutu/Tutsi relationship was one of the subjects Dr Thakur used as an illustration of dominating systems in our Political Sociology elective in the late 1970s at Legon, so I have an educated knowledge of the subject and therefore took a keen interest in reading anything on the unfolding drama in the early 1990s. That's why I knew that small scale genocides were already happening before the big April one and the countries that were complicit in the genocide.

More importantly, I was then affiliated to Chr. Michelsen Institute, (CMI), Bergen, Norway, when it won the UN consultancy to write the first substantial report on the genocide. I was not happy with the limited terms and therefore didn't volunteer to assist the Rapporteur, Dr Astri Suhrke. I handed over my dossier to her assistant and when some of that stuff spilled into the Report, France went haywire and wanted their $50000 contribution back! How could one write such a report without mentioning the powerful nations who obstructed Kofi Annan's recommendations to the UN Secretary-Gen. to reinforce the UN Peace Makers, and rather forced their withdrawal of most?

I am glad Zanetor has written on the subject. Her mother being an Asante, the people often recognise as the main culprits in dishing out ethnocentric prejudices against even fellow Akans, and the father being a bonafide Ewe, the ethnic group that is the main target of the Akan bigots that coalesced around the Asante supremacists, and then being an MP now, she has an onerous responsibility to tackle this issue. I can help her a lot to promote an Anti-Villification Law in the country, similar to that in many European countries designed to curb ethnocentric expressions.

At least he made sure our dear nation was not plunged into any conflict, because no one would dare look into his eyes and even think of that. Not to mention the modern trend of democracy we are all enjoying today. It takes men like that (men with guts) to deal with lawlessness and the kind of terrorism that is popping up everywhere in the country right now, which His Incompetence Excellency, Mr all die be die doesn't seem to know how to deal with

You are kidding me... right?? Are you serious? That man came into power presenting himself as a poor selfless messiah, only interested in his country's wellbeing. But guess what, he ended up as a king, retired and is living like a king on tax payers expense. Educated his children abroad, while he destroyed our education system.

Today he is one of the richest and perhaps most powerful family in the country. Where did that family get the money from?

Every member of his family want to be president and rule over Ghanaians - the wife and the children. Amazingly many Ghanaians can so easily be fooled.

Should every downtrodden person take the gun and seize power, so that we could retire rich, educate our children abroad live in comfort for the rest of our lives???
