Ghana’s President Hurls Insults At Obasanjo At African Forum In London - bloomberg
There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults. This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States, Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.
Culled from Bloomberg.

Togbe has no case, his land has not been encroached, the alledged building can go as high as it could provided they do not extend it over the line to enter his jurisdiction.I think he is looking for cheap money.

If we used the logic Afede wants to apply here there would not have been a single tall building in New York.Every man wants his house to be the tallest, biggest and nicest in the neighborhood.

This is an interesting case of finding out how much an individual on such an august National Institution as the Council of State that is supposed to be our ultimate repository of intelligent, cautious, elderly experiential counseling could offer as patriotism.
Questions that immediately pop up in the minds of many observers include:
1). Is forfeiture of the right to privacy or the opposite thereof an expected criterion to qualify for such a position in Ghana?
2). Does a member of the Council of State, as the Chief is, exhibit any lack of patriotism which disqualifies him from being on the Council by suing the Government in a case like this?
Other questions that the Public might want answers for on this case could be:
1). Could our State right of Eminent Domain exempt certain persons just because of their Social status?
2). Which of the two adjacent pieces of land bearing the properties of the vying Stakeholders was first acquired?
3). Does the contested structure satisfy any zoning criteria for the area that it is being built upon?
Well, folks, we should closely watch how this case unfolds. It could well set a precedent for how similar cases are dealt with in the future elsewhere in the Nation.
What a slice of democracy up for Public consumption!
Long Live Ghana!!!

IN ORDER TO AVOID SUCH PROBLEMS, THE DEVELOPED WORLD HAS IN PLACE WHAT IS KNOWN AS ZONING. IT IS TIME THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES IN AFRICA ESPECIALLY MUST START TO COPY HOW THE DEVELOPED WORLD DO THINGS. PLANNING IS THE KEY AND THAT IS WHAT THE DEVELOPING WORLD MUST COPY. WE LIKE NICE THINGS PLUS LAW AND ORDER AND TO ARCHIVE LAW AND ORDER WE HAVE TO HAVE RULES, CODES, REGULATIONS AND ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS IN TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING. IF THESE ARE IN PLACE THERE WILL BE NO NEED FOR A CASE LIKE THIS TO TAKE PLACE. INSTRUCT YOUR PLANNERS TO START EARLY IN IMPLEMENTING SUCH PLANS FOR OUR VILLAGES, TOWNS AND CITIES. ZONING IS THE WORD.
