What really beats me is the fact that that many number of vehicles were not properly accounted for by the transition team.

Every vehicle or motor bike that is bought by an individual or institution (usually through the harbour, since we do not manufacture that many) is registered in the name of that individual or institution before it can be legally driven around.

Of necessity, every such vehicle must have insurance. These two avenues are the surest routes to trace the ownership of a vehicle.

Like the UK, a vehicle that is bought in Ghana retains or can always be related to the very first registration until it is scrapped.

Unless the DVLA itself was part of this massive fraud on the people of Ghana, why can't the agencies of the new government simply summon DVLA to present the particulars of ALL vehicles that have been bought by state agencies in the past ten years, for the rightful owners to stake their claims?
