Yes, talent has to be unique - diffrerent. And it is often rewaded - even over-rewarded. But not all talent is useful to society. Indeed, only few are.
In Ghana, we pursue higher academic qualifications principally because we lack talent. But even within academia, there are people with talent - academic talents. And they are unique and few. That's why there are professors and there are professors. But in Ghana, everyone with a higher degree is thought of as brilliant and talented. It is not true. Most PhD holders are neither brilliant nor talented.
A Ghana's got talent program will produce only few real talents because our population is not that big and we Ghanaians are not really talented people.
