Nana must hurry up with his appointments in order to go to work. That will include investigating some loudmouths who think they still have clout to throw vain words here and there to set tone for public discourse. All of them need to be investigated thoroughly and if found guilty, thrown into jail. Nana must immediately restructure the security wings which still offer these criminals refuge and assurance of immunity. Most of these guys, from Wayome, Koku Ayidoho down to Hanna Bissiw should have been in jail by now for money stolen from the state. The people had confidence in Nana to do that and that accounted for his overwhelming numbers at the ballot. We are seeing nothing of that as of now. Inasmuch as the new administration drags its feet the conditions and state of economy will worsen with passage of time - probably in the most immediate spur of a moment. The looters at the toll booths are same guys still manning the posts, offering fake receipts at payment and accounting to nobody but some party contractors the public knows nothing about. I still see some of those party high political appointees driving around in Gvt vehicles and having them parked in their driveways 24/7 - some as many as three or four, all at the expense of the poor taxpayer. I still see the police extort money from motorists at unneeded checkpoints - most annoying is the Ayimensa toll booth wherr as many as twelve policemen congregate to openly and unabashedly request motorists for money. What right does some party crook who has melted our resources and built corrupt institutions have to argue over measures to retrieve or stop this plunder ? A letter requesting resignation of all high level political appointees must go out immediately to prevent further stealing and compromising incriminating evidences. The country stands to lose over a hundred million cedis per day with these crooks still holding on to keys to our economic resources.

If it's true that Anita De Sosoo or Souza or whatever the name is, in her capacity as a State official ran her vehicle into a group of people then why didn't she face criminal negligence prosecution or is the law in Ghana a respecter of persons? This is a very legitimate question. I'm not sure I'm hearing right but if this selective justice system is the modus operandi of law enforcement in the nation which I believe it's then the department of police needs a complete overhaul or we're better off without them.
I remember back in the day Prime Minister Dr Busia's wife was ticketed for driving without a driver's license by a police officer but contrary to everyone's expectation the PM recommended the officer for promotion. Police officers must be instructed to perform their duties without fear or favor and without having to look over their shoulders if they're within the limits of the law. I believe the new administration must also take a deep look into recruitment policies and procedures to make sure only the cream of the very best are selected.
In the mid nineties during the tenure of the Rawlings Administration, a reckless driver who hit and killed a beautiful kid with his car at the Regimanuel Estate where I was resident at the time and he had the nerve to ask the kid's father this stupid question : "Do you know who I am? Nothing much has changed from that day till date and I believe it's time for the Akuffo Addo administration to set the records straight and the way forward to a police department that's under the control of the political party in power. This is not payback time or giving the the wicked NDC people a taste of their own medicine. It's time to set the records straight, change, and set new standards for every malfunctioning State Organization, including the Police Department.
