** Stupid English with silly punctuations...This can only come from Francis Kwarteng, Mr. Bad English **

We say, apart from the internet "copy and paste" crap, Kwarteng is a damn useless uneducated, "quarter-literate" who can't construct just a simple sentence in English with a grammatical mistake.
We also say, it's about the highest time the idiot, Kwarteng refrained from polluting and poisoning the minds of the ignorant readers of Ghanaweb.

By the way could you explain what was grammatically wrong with each of extracts you posited? You could have done a lot of good telling us how and where the content of Mr Kwarteng's articles could be or not be farthest from the truth or how wrong the presumed author, Nkrumah, was. Instead you chose to be an English professor without credentials and a bad one at that; you wonder why we remain in the doldrums.

Both leaders were kicked out of office so who lost and who gained? We love to gloat over things that does not make sense because both Nkrumah and Busia are resting in their respective grave yet we are trying to stoke embers.
Whatever letter Nkrumah wrote to Busia does not matter. We are faced with huge problems which we have to use commonsense in solving them but what do we see? Look, any African leader who tries to defy the world powerful leaders, will be faced with the same problems. Where is Gaddafi and who is to blame for his ouster? Imagine the gruesome killing of Thomas Sankara just because he was trying to sideline France.
The powerful nations love to use our continent as a playing grounds for "who-knows-what" reason and it is about time we find a way to curtail that else we be playing second fiddle to them till thy Kingdom come.
As long as some of us can be bought with peanuts, we should forget about making any headway when it comes to " real independent thinking". If one cannot think for him/herself, what fate awaits such a human? That is how we Africans are and we will continue to be like that till the end time because we love to do the same thing yet expecting different results. Impossible.

Have we ascertained that this letter really comes from the pen (or typewriter) of Kwame Nkrumah?
Nkrumah died on April 27 1972. Busia was overthrown on 13 January 1972. This leaves a period of three months for Nkrumah to write the letter before his death. Apparently, it was a time Nkrumah himself was ill - an illness that became terminal. Did he write this letter during his time of illness, did he dictate it to his secretary or did he ask someone to write it on his behalf?
Nkrumah was a prolific writer especially with time on his side after his overthrow. Did he just write anything at all at any time? Would Nkrumah write an open letter to Busia?
If it was an open letter, then it would be one that would be directly available in the public domain and may not have been a private letter written and posted to the private address of Busia. Between Busia's overthrow and the death of Nkrumah, not many knew about the whereabouts of the exiled Busia.
How long have we known about the existence of this letter which may have been written more than 40 years ago and may have been among the last things that Nkrumah wrote, if he, indeed, wrote it?
Does the writing compare with other things Nkrumah may have written in the same period? This is for experts on his writing to tell us. Is it typical of Nkrumah to boast of his achievements in terms of things built during his regime and even those not strictly built at that time?
Did Nkrumah really broadcast to Ghanaians in 1969 exhorting them to vote for Busia? His broadcasts were not heard by many in Ghana. In 1969, not many people had radios in Ghana. People had rediffusion boxes in their houses that constantly relayed GBC 1 broadcasts. They would never broadcast anything from Nkrumah after his overthrow. Even those who had small battery operated Philips or Akasonoma radios would have a hard time catching shortwave transmissions from Conakry. Only few had those huge radios with white buttons and stations written on the dials which would havd been able to catch transmissions from Conakry.
I was a school boy then and never heard any of the broadcasts but I know people who heard them. Anyway, Nkrumah compiled these broadcasts and published them in one of his books, I think DARK DAYS IN GHANA.
Okoampa wrote a piece on this letter on the 8 in which he said he happened on it from sankofa.com. He apparently took it as genuine.
Can we really establish that this letter is authentic and was written by a Nkrumah who was not impaired by any illness at the time of writing it? Or was it just made up by someone in this digital world when such things can easily be spread around?

It's just that something in the letter just doesn't feel ok with me. And, Francis, you know how so many lies were told about the man, even when he was alive...
Maybe, like Othello, I may want an "ocular proof" that is beyond the refs provided.

Nkrumah's letter is illuminating, and it underscores his understanding of colonialism, imperialism and the modus operandi of imperialists and how they relate to the underdevelopment of Ghana and Africa. This understanding eluded Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia and his cabal, and after almost 60 years of independence it still eludes majority of our so-called intellectuals and half-baked scholars. To paraphrase President Putin of Russia, "How can Nkrumah get through to Ghanaians that colonialism and imperialism are the bane of Ghana's progress?"
