NPP will wake up - LATE - to discover that this one was actually no elephant but a puffed-up wolf masquerading as one. I feel sad for Kufuor who has to join events in a desperate effort to restore his legacy (he at least thinks/believes he has one), or to make it sellable in the future when an Akan runs for the office, because then the Akwapims will not say Akans did not support Akufo-Addo. We saw and heard bits of sentiments about Alan having abandoned (or been abandoned/ignored during) Akufo-Addo's last campaign. Though the party (or other factions of it) are unhappy with Akufo-Addo's conduct and handling of the party, and know that he is heading for the floor headlong, they just have to keep up appearances and keep appearing when appearance appears to matter. One just needs to listen carefully to what Kufuor has to say during such performances and will discern the feeling. Who will support a disrespectful and disuniting candidate? One may be a presidential candidate but until you become president, that one is an ordinary party member and below the authority of the national executives of the party - even when one is an incumbent presidential candidate, like HIS EXCELLENCY JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA; in fact, even then when it comes to matters of the party, the national executives still remain the highest authority. But the guy Akufo-Addo is pompous and not humble: talk about corruption and being corrupt. Pomposity and lack of humility are the HIGHEST forms of corruption. Afoko is not only the legitimate (though militarily overthrown) national chairman of the party, he is (actually was since he now puts his money to better use) also a HUGE financier of the party and has a HUGE following all across the country; Kwabena Agyapong is by far the most eloquent, convincing and (now) reasonable voice of the NPP, and also bridges the old and new very well and hence has the potential to draw floating individuals into the fold: they have been overthrown and forced into silence and inaction - with their followers and money of course. By now everybody, except Akufo-Addo and his blind eye and deaf ear NPP, knows that Freddie Blay is Kweku Ananse incarnate: yet, he is not only the one (coup-maker) in-charge, but also, is single-handedly spelling the doom of the elephant while making a mockery of the whole establishment and of course himself. Did I hear that his paper is following the money even to the praise of the NDC? Talk about corruption and corruptibility: when an individual cannot sacrifice (or even just utilize) their resources, including business for the benefit of the cause they not only CLAIM to pursue, but actually hold themselves as its DRIVER, while using it against itself, one wonders what that represents - if not CORRUPTION. A lot of us once (2000 elections) not only supported, but campaigned at the risk of everything including life itself - of course, need I say vote - for NPP. But after Kufuor helped us appreciate that we were wrong - if we stayed behind the NPP - and showed us that the NDC is the real thing for Ghana, it will not even be in dreamland that we will make such a mistake again. Nonetheless, when one watches Akufo-Addo's NPP, one can at least reach deep down and pity the future of the elephant - since at least it provides the most potent potential (because it currently isn't, its not even in existence) life-long watch-dog to NDC or any other party that manages to gain the seat. But they all are SLEEPING or PRETENDING to be unaware of what is happening, like the ostrich and her surroundings. If you don't wake up, don't say we did not warn you; we will actually be mad at you for letting us down. But again, what can I say? Who am I to say anything? All I can try to do is say GOOD LUCK to you and your A-APP (Akufo-Addo Personal Party), - because I can't think far, ....at all!!!
