Wow! I had to cringe in embarrassment reading through this piece. The issues raised are very serious. Even more serious are the numerous grammatical errors.... I can infer from this that the writer is a university student or someone close to the day-to-day life on UG campus. It is therefore surprising that he did not ask some of his colleagues to proof-read this before posting. The elementary errors cast the UG in a bad light. Sorry, I had to say this!

There is no insecurity on campus.The snatching of bags and others have been the problem with campus life not now. It should not look like a new phenomenon. No,even the vices have reduced due to development around the massive campus. The University itself is extensive, monitoring it is not going to come easy. The securities on campus are up to the task, they trained to tackle outside offenders but not students riots and other students disturbances. What perhaps they should have done is or even the students themselves should have called in the police who have pitched their presence a few meters away to help but not internal security men in green uniform calling them cadets. No, how were they expected to mediate when two students function have engaged themselves in vandalism.That was why the vandal city needed to be shed off its old historic ritualistic disturbances. Students weir behavior have been a habit from the past not new, the students themselves sometimes do not follow precautionary measures, they failed to realised that over exposure of their laptops and others are lapses that attracts these hoodlums on campus who are looking for any easy prey. And To say that there have not been any arrest, the writer does not know much about the University campus, he should go and find out the number of arrest that have been recorded. This report is skewed, not representing proper state of affairs on Legon campus.Dis regard this rumor monger.

All issues raised are valid and it is indeed true that Legon campus security are at best, nonchalant towards any security threats. One boldly told me he was nearing retirement and would not risk his health for anyone on the day i fell in an unfortunate predicament near Noguchi road just last year.
That being said, please get a proofreader to read and correct your articles before posting. Poor grammar among university students is as relevant an issue as anything else.
