Youth and Sports Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has revealed his intentions of offering tax incentives to companies who come on board to sponsor the Ghana Premier League.

The minister who tagged the Ghana Premier League as “unattractive”, and being the reason corporate bodies aren’t availing themselves to sponsor the elite football league of Ghana wants to put in attractive measures that will lure interested parties.

The 2015/2016 season of the Ghana Premier League is without a headline sponsor raising questions about the attractive nature of the GFA product.

The league is already in its 25th week and, it is highly impossible to secure sponsorship at this time, but some officials of the FA are confident of securing sponsorship for the 2016/17 league season giving the Minister room to help interested parties.

“Our league is unattractive that is why we don’t have a sponsorship. If our league was attractive, why don’t we have sponsors?”

“Look, I am ready to offer tax incentives for any company that will provide sponsorship to our league,” he told Asempa FM.
