I suggest that the Ghana Power Compact be made public for us all to see what it actually contains. I have seen bits and pieces of information such as the concessionaire will take over for 25 years to facilitate private sector participation? It is very confusing. We need to see what is actually in that Compact to enable us debate it and offer alternatives. Privatisation in itself is not a bad thing. If it is introduced at the retail level it will surely bring competition and consumers will have the choice to choose who they want to buy power from. Prices will naturally become competitive and possibly more affordable. The current ECG monopoly at the retail level does not help.

That is the character and attitude of the ECG, VRA and the Ministry of Power.
Electricity bills are now prepaid and a few post paid who use the power for profit. If they don't honour their part of the deal is then disconnected.
So what at all is the problem of those power stakeholders? Do they have the staff to check even on ILLEGAL connections???
No wonder, most of the people at helm of affairs progressed in the educational ladder through 'apor', to wit ways and means to acquire certificates to be gainfully employed.
Until those stakeholders realise their stupidity and folly, they can never solve the power problem in Ghana.
