  Nice to have none other than our own great mind Bright Simmons take on this subject. Yes, achievement has been reduced to material and political pursuits, with mostly banal measures of success. Refreshing to hear that a group regularly meets at Ashesi to discuss matters of truly seminal significance. The "Otabil effect" is most welcome, and the theory underlying - or better put- explaining it, is even the more significant! Bravo, Bright!

  Everything is explained or understood in the context of politics. This has undermined any critical thinking. You can't breathe without it being interpreted in political terms
  
  It is withing this context to see the emergence of the likes of Otabil who adds a dimension of reasoning to the national discourse. Unfortunately his uterances are degraded by political interpretation
  
  Unless we develop a sense of introspection and critical thinking we shall perish as a people devoid by our myopic succumption to political mediocrity

  A fantastic read. Thanks Bright. This will make a great scholarly article if you expand it further using Foucault's power analysis or Goffman's frame analysis. I really want to read a detailed work on the subject.
