Before Ghana became member of the ECOWAS open border club we should have reserved the right to terminate any parts of the agreement that allowed the free flow of criminals if established and supported by facts that a percentage threshold of crimes are committed by citizens of any one nation within Ghanaian borders. Secondly the agreement should have been ratified only after the police and security agencies in member nations had requisite basic tools such as wireless or banded communication radios, a reserved channel or frequency for police and security agency use only and reasonable number of high powered vehicles in each member nation.
The last thing we need to encourage in Ghana is any activity that will sanction vigilante justice and tribal dispensation of justice by citizens. Crime is on the upswing in every nation on the globe because nations have allowed the rich in society to dictate policies that puts money in their pockets exclusive of a majority who are poor and destitute. No man is willing to starve to death while rich folks living nearby exhibit obscene riches gained from society through foul means.
