if you listened to to the former minister over the year's, you will come to no other conclusion but that the woman is a tribal bigot and I will give you two instances. the first was when she had gone to the Volta region to settle a land dispute about the land earmarked for the airport and her first admonishing was that people should make the lands available for if the airport is done, it is only those in the Volta region who will benefit in terms of jobs and not people from other regions-she had of-course tribally forgotten that we operate unitary system of goverment. another was when she was commissioning some project in Tamale and her exact sentiment was that after the project was completed Tamale would overtake kumasi as the second city in Ghana so there you have it the tribal bigot
on the other hand Bawumiah was just asking people to take his point of as he deems ideal

Listening o all the accolades that we heaped on this 'light-weight Economist' by his 'new' friends, who would believe he actually worked as a member of a team, and for a team leader?

The Bawumia gravy train is coming to a halt as Ghanaians would begin to know who the NPP is imposing on the people of Ghana another northerner through the dastardly affirmative action for northerners. Our country is currently living through a nightmare with another northerner who came to the Presidency through the back door, and very soon the country would have another one in the person of Bawumia. Let's face it, Nana Akuffo Addo is 72 and has health problems, the likelihood of him completing his term in office is anybody's guess. Then this country would once again be saddled with another northerner who is riding merely on the good name of his deceased father.
I have always maintained that, the practice of our political parties going to the north to choose vice presidential candidates is the reckless and mindless to say the least. What country or democracy in the world that chooses its VP through affirmative action? Is this democracy? These northerners are creeping into the higher echelon of power, not on merit but through the backdoor.
Tell me, what is so politically expedient in choosing a northerner as VP. The population of the north according to the 2010 census is a mere 2.5 million against the overall population of approximately 24 million, that being said, what is so attractive about choosing a northerner as VP? If the truth be said, the first northerner to assume the Presidency was Dr. Hilla Limann of Sissala extraction, a novice and unheralded political neophyte who was shoed into the Presidency through backdoor politics headed by Mumuni Bawumia (father of Bawumia). Those of us who were old enough to live through Limann's administration would tell you that, it was a complete disaster. Limann led one of the worst government from Septemter 24, 1979 to December 31, 1981 - Limann's 27 months in power was marked by indecisiveness, political experimentation and alcoholism.
It was not a surprise that Rawlings took back the country in a bloodless coup in December 31, 1981. The tragedy of our politics is that, they take a neophyte and untested Bawumia and inflate his credentials to make him attractive to the electorate just as they did to Hilla Limann to the detriment of the nation. They call him names like an astute Economist, the doyen of economics, and all sorts of nonsense and put him up there. And the primitive and backward Ghanaian who is bereft of common sense would line up in the scorching sun and vote for these scam artists.
As I have said many times, what keeps me up at night is the prospect of Bawumia becoming the substantive President of Ghana after the death of the ailing Akuffo Addo, suppose he wins the November elections. Any smart prospective VP candidate would know that in a country where 71.2% are Christians and only 29.6% are Muslims, a comment like that is at best inane and obtuse - it demonstrate the extent of immaturity of a person the NPP is imposing on the Ghanaian electorate.

Dr. M. Bawumia should resign as Akufo Addo's running mate over this controversial religious speech and wait to campaign to become the flag bearer in 2020, with a focus on improving Ghana's economy. Trying at all cost to win the forthcoming elections for Akufo Addo is a mistake. He is being used by the NPP.

Ghana had lived with tribal politics for a long time and attempts have been to dump it down but we know it is a lingering menace and now more of an irritant than a severe bother. We also know of the menace of fanning religious sentiments and the repercussions of such sentiments.
The focus of international consensus is how to damp down these religious inferno which is the cause of instability affecting international peace and security. From the middle east to west Africa Africa many people are dying as a result of these religious fanaticism.
As a result it has become a burning issue which people are careful with. For a vice presidential candidate not to be aware of what such fanaticism can do to a country especially to the gullible beggars believe.I am afraid Bawumia is unfit for leadership of this country. He had stooped too low to be taken serious.
As for Attivor the least said about her the better. We seem to be conditioned to a culture of tribal loyalty of a which is irritating and stupid. But it is a national cancer which surprises no one though we make a mouthful of it when we hear of one of such comments.

I understand, coming from academia that is what is done. But to tell you the truth , there is no distinction between the two statements and you were quick to remind readers of the past of the ndc but you failed to talk about the past of the ndc. I understand, you are a member of the npp so you must be seen to protecting them but the truth stands, no matter how many times you flog it.

Perhaps he[Henry] has forgotten about the numerous public gaffes or deliberate efforts by Bawumiah to get his 'bossman' into the Flagstaff House; even at the risk of being cited for perjury!

As an unabashed atheist, I simply abhor this invasion of religion into the Ghanaian body politic. And as an Ewe, above all an Anlo, and most importantly a pan-Africanist, I hate equally the constant demonisation and vilification directed at we Ewes by mostly some mentally warped and jaded members of the Akan ethnic group. I have therefore as much as possible written against both. That much you know.
But, my first comment on what Ms Attivor said was to bash her for making a skewed statement which is factually incorrect on an important issue like the undisputed and well chronicled knack of the PP tradition to target Ewes. (Note: I didn't write UP tradition, for obvious reasons: the NLM elements who formed the PP were then in cohorts with the sizeable anti-CPP Ewes). So, what happened to Ewes after they teamed up to overthrow the CPP was just like being taken to Kontsiabu all over again. I hope you have been reading up on your history because I have been waiting for years to pick up from where I stopped at on the trip down Memory Lane.
