The proposed Communication Bill will NOT stop terrorist attacks in Ghana, if that is to happen. It's a misguided and unnecessary approach to combating the threat of terrorism and criminal activity. How effective will the mass surveillance, collection and processing of communication data avert terrorism?
Given that Ghana's porous borders make us very vulnerable to cross-border attacks, our national security planning should prioritise the need for effective security measures and checks at our borders, ports and hotels.
Are the country's Police, Military and Emergency services well-equipped and trained to effectively respond to terrorist attack?
