  Jihad had always been a violent confrontation towards enforcing the supremacy of islam. The other definitions were a later additions. Again it does not matter what jihad is or isn't. The problem lies with the teaching that Mohammed and his deciples are the best examples muslims should imitate in order to be good muslims. These are people who spent the most part of their productive lives fighting and conquering kingdoms and forcing islam on them. Tell me how North Africa and Asia became islamic? Again, there is nothing in the scriptures you quoted that suggest that jihad does not include what ISIS is doing. ISIS is imitating the success conquest stories of the early and most pious muslims.
