That can happen only in the banana republic called Ghana. They are lucky to be in Ghana and not in the developed democracy like UK, US or Germany. They would been sacked, prosecuted and jailed. In Ghana they would go free and the worst punishment would be a transfer to a different region. Not much will come of the Anas work.

On pure grounds of law it will fail and the judges will be acquitted if subjected to prosecution.But the law also takes cognizance of public opinion and its interest which may go against the judges.

Armed robbery is what many of us think the government is not doing enough to stop and if the few who are arrested are released by Judges we should all be worried about that but the person who caused the release of the criminals is this very guy claiming to be an investigator,no investigator anywhere get criminals release rather you help the authorities to arrest the people behind their release.

This so called investigation is a disservice to the country,it did more harm than good,already three judges have been released because they did nothing wrong but were included in the list,one was not even at the place they claim he took the bribe and never work in that part of the country in the first place.
There is too much hole in that investigation,it should be thrown away.

The manner by which we got our thieves shouldn't matter to the hungry Ghanaians. What matters is, we have got our thieves. We should hold them fast to set an example. Other thieves are watching. In a documentary called From Russia With Cash, to be broadcast on Wednesday, two undercover reporters pose as an unscrupulous Russian government official called “Boris” and his mistress “Nastya” whom he wants to purchase an upmarket property in London for.

The couple – Russian anti-corruption campaigner Roman Borisovich and Ukrainian investigative reporter Natalia Sedletska – view five properties ranging in price from £3m to £15m, on the market with five different west London agents, in Kensington, Chelsea and Notting Hill.

Despite being made aware they are dealing with ill-gotten gains, the estate agents agree to continue with a potential purchase. In several instances the estate agents recommend law firms to help a buyer hide his identity.

One estate agent names a “very, very good lawyer … the last person I put them was another minister of a previous Soviet state” in a deal worth £10m.

The estate agents suggest that in the capital secretive purchases of multimillion pound houses are common. One claims that 80% or more of his transactions are with international, overseas-based buyers and “50 or 60%” of them are conducted in “various stages of anonymity … whether it be through a company or an offshore trust”.

Those caught on camera include estate agents from high street chain Winkworth, central London specialist Marsh & Parsons which advertises itself under the slogan “The Only Way is Ethics”, Domus Nova, Chard, and Bective Leslie Marsh which have been used by fashion designers and actors.

There has been increasing concern that billions of pounds of corruptly gained money has been laundered by criminals and foreign officials buying upmarket London properties through anonymous offshore front companies. Experts say the city is arguably the world capital of money laundering.

"Officials for London's 2012 games bid are hoping that the International Olympic Committee's decision to recommend the expulsion of a Bulgarian member alleged in a BBC programme to be involved in corruption will not undermine its bid. The IOC's executive board recommended yesterday that Ivan Slavkov be kicked out of the elite club for breaking ethics rules and "seriously tarnishing" the IOC's image.

Slavkov has been suspended from the IOC since August after Panorama filmed him allegedly discussing how votes could be bought to help influence the 2012 decision. The final decision over whether to expel him rests with the full IOC general assembly, which is due to dis cuss the issue next July in Singapore, where it is also scheduled to vote on the destination of the games.

Why should they not be prosecusted as any ordinary person? Mahama bribbed Atuguba and a few supreme court judges, Woyome bribbed justice Azem and a few other judges, JJ Rawlings bribbed some judges and cealed their mouths on crimes he committed and now here we have such a bunch of criminals sitting on the highly esteemed benches, referred to as judges caught in the net of criminality and you have the guts to give them pardon. What a shame. The country called Ghana must be burned to ashes so that a new plant of fresh individuals will start to grow.

There we go with complicating the processes from this beginning.....a loophole for their fellows to jump through to challenge in court. Would this council see their own off? NO! This Anas should have reported to police as soon as this individual was released. So Anas should be arrested for aiding and abetting rather than being the so called investigative journalist.

I think the call for all decisions taken by these judges in the last 2-3 years to be reviewed for fairness must be granted, particularly cases that were transferred from one court or judge to these judges must be considered.

Under cover investigations are often not like normal cases where the person is confronted to react before the under cover report is published. The Judges have no case as the strict principles of natural justrice they are referring to have not been breached. They have not been sacked. They have only been asked to step aside and respond to the allegations. If they go through the process and are exonerated they will be reinstated. Come to think of it, how many times did they ever consider that many of those they sentenced because they ahd no money to pay them had their rigths abused? Crucially, how many are men and how many are women.? There seems to be a gender dimension as the women Judges would seem less likely to take bribes. But of course, their numbers are also not very high in the list of Judges.
