John Boadu and his like-minded colleagues in NPP do not appear to have learned any lesson on election campaign, and how to attract support and connect with rural voters. If the NPP for all these years cannot understand the 'mentality' and importantly the 'cultural sentimentality' of some Ghanaian voters, then, I cannot imagine the NPP beating the NDC in some constituencies or coming to power anytime soon. Some constituencies and regions will vote for the NDC party despite 'Dumsor', unemployment, corruption scandals, and economic incompetence. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee, NPP.

This can be inferred from their conduct when Hon. Moctar raised the issue. All the NPP tried to do was to use technicalities a la Hon Eric Amoateng to drag the matter until thy kingdom come, to frustrate the process and prevent the holding of the elections until next year probably and get all parties to agree that it was not worth the while. But their calculations were wrong. The Talensi MP would not play ball and the House Speaker was too astute for the liking of the NPP. This initial preliminary 'defeat' in parliament affected the morale in the contest proper. Now, is there a difference between what the NPP are saying now than what informed their decision to go to the Supreme court in 2012? They could not understand how John Mahama could win the elections after such dismal performance by the NDC Govt of Prof Mills? The only logical answer to Mahama's victory was vote rigging. Now the same situation has been played out in Talensi and John Boadu and co are re-echoing the same sentiments, only this time not even their die-hard supporters such as Ahoofe Okuampa are prepared to swallow such excuses.

Please don't use John Boadu as scape goat,he did his best for NPP.They always find flimsy excuses to their defeat instead of learning from their mistakes. Before Talensi,NPP said the current voters register is bloated. One would have expected them to boycott the by-election at Talensi but surprisingly they were very keen to win with the same register.I would like to know why NPP is quiet on this issue now.By the way,John Boadu as a National Organiser is not responsible for the NPP defeat and he is not the only one making stupid statement and anlysis. The party has a flagbearer, chairman and general secretary. Why should you hold John Boadu as hostage? Is he the one in charge of campaign strategy or what? You guys better sit up and learn from your mistakes.Thank you.

For you to be publicly criticising an NPP man, he probably must belong to the "Alan Camp", but if not, then you're evolving: "Do not conform..., but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind."

I totally agree with you that Mr John Boadu's comments are completely out of place, especially coming from a man who should know better that objectivity plays very little role in Ghana's electoral system. Your conclusions are however also not practicable. The NPP must just target some regions and have a special story to tell them and make those regions their sleeping places between now and Dec. 2016.And they should know those regions by now. Fortunately those regions command the larger populations of the country. I assure them that with sleepless nights in those regions victory will be ours in 2016 What Talensi has drummed into our heads is that Ghanaians don't vote on the basis of truth.Over to you, John Boadu!
