The population of the Middle East is made up of Arabs, Persians, Kurds, Yazidis, Jews,Turks, etc. We should know that the present Palistinians are mostly Arabs. From the 7th Century AD to date, there have been heavy war waged by the Arabs against the non-Arabs with the sole aim of destroying the non-Arabs( Jews, Kurds, Yazidis, etc) from the Middle east. It will interest everybody to know that the Kurds, even-though are non-Arabs are mostly Sunni Muslims, have suffered a lot in the hands of their Arab neighbours( remember the Chemical Ali Saga). Currently, the ISIS has auctioned 12,000 Yazidi girls for slavery and do you know those who bought them? The purchasers are Sunni Arab Muslims and they did that because the Arab men believe the Yazidis are infidels and that their girls are more beautiful than Arab ladies. So you see, the non-Arabs in the middle East have every reason to protect themselves by any means necesary.
On the issue of Ghanaians using Israeli flags I think Kwesi Pratt is being too petty. Has Kwesi Pratt ever asked why some Ghanaians, including a Mega Star like Kwaw Kese, use the Kufiah which is a symbol of the Palestinian Struggle? If Kwesi Pratt wants to position himself as a freedom fighter, then I will sincerely appeal to him to direct his attention to Mauritania, which is in his backyard since Palistine is too far from Ghana, where the few Arabs there have enslaved the majority Black Africans and where slave trade is still being practiced. If Kwesi Pratt cares to know, the Kurds and Yazidis are now pleading for Israeli aid and support since the world has ignored their plight.
So you see, I am not a university graduate yet I know all these but unfortunately, Kwesi Pratt who is a university graduate does not know these simple things. This is how far our useless university graduates have brought us.

Infact, they are more than determined to push Israel into the sea. Now such a pronouncement is in itself an abhorrence to God and HIS sovereignty.

The Prophet Ezekiel came out with the boundaries of the land of Israel, and is significantly the same as what God promised to Abraham. What Israel occupies now is far less than the Land apportioned to them by God HIMSELF.

And God, in his WORD, has warned nations that divide HIS land.

Christ prophesied that Jerusalem would be trodden upon until the appointed times of the Nations.

Jerusalem has fallen into the hands of many nations since the time of Christ, including the Romans, Byzantine, and lately under UK.

No City has suffered incursions more than Jerusalem. God in HIS infinite wisdom allows things to happen over time frames, yet all those things are within HIS overall plan and purpose.

We are in the end times, and every thing(events) and their timings are building up to colossal events that are yet to come.

We are to be sober and prayerful and guide our tongues.

Let us be encouraged that there is no partiality with God (Acts 10.34).

The Salvation (knowing Christ) of every individual is paramount to him.
And a knowledge of the TRUTH sets us free.

The world politics and what belongs to who etc are what are bringing about conflicts in the world.

Let us be reminded that Israel is such that If others dwell on the land it cannot be developed economically etc. God has mandated that HIS covenant people are to finally dwell there. They will come from all the corners of the Earth and come back to the land of Israel.

Let us know the time and seasons so that we will not fall into the trap of world politics with individuals or group of people with their own agenda, under the hypocritical guise of championing a course.

Once again, be sober and prayerful and remain in the LORD, for HE knows all things, and RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE are the very foundation of the THRONE of GOD.

This so called journalist will have to be brought to order by National Security. He is inciting Palestine and Israel war in Ghana. Has he forgotten we have all of them here? This same person condemned Israel 34days war With Hezbollah but the war was initiated by Hezbollah. Hezbollah fired rockets severally to Israel before they also reacted and that eventually developed into war. With this Akwesi Pratt made so much noise condemning Israel. Israel was being selective on targets, as they kept hitting Hezbollah positions without collateral damage. They could have fired indiscriminately but considered innocent ones. At a point Israel had to suspend the war for their enemies to break fast and showed the respect they have for God and Islam as a religion. Even with that the Hezbollah were firing rockets to Israel. Akwesi Pratt made noise that time because he didn't know what was going on. And even if Israel was wrong who is Akwesi Pratt to talk on high tech international issues. Pratt needs to be examined mentally. I was there and part of the war, our armed forces or Kofi Annan training school should educate him before coming out with issues of Israel and states surrounding them. Or he shut up because he is too kenkeni!

It is unprecedented in history for a country to completely disappear from the surface of the earth for as long as two thousand years and appear again. Israel is at the centre of God's grand agenda in the fulfilment of His covenants.
Promoting global hatred against Israel is a mistake that Ghana must not be part of. Israel will always have capacity to survive even in the midst of its avowed enemies. No solution based on hatred for Israel will work for the Palestinians or any other country in the Middle East. The security of Israel is as important as the the establishment of a Palestinian state - you can't have one without the other.
Israel is a top class humanitarian country. In spite of their tiny size, they consistently lead in offering humanitarian assistance to those who face overwhelming disasters abroad. Remember our own Melcom Disaster - they were the only country that came to help without invitation. Recently in Nepal, they were there in a large proportion to help; interestingly, Iran which is yearning to become a nuclear power was not there to help. Even when it becomes necessary for them to take military action to neutralize a terrorist action against them they go through all the necessary precautions to minimize casualties unlike their enemies who aim to kill as many innocent Israelis as possible. Israel is not callous at all.
Let us remember also that, Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East. Their leaders have their diverse population to be accountable to thus their leaders cannot powers mandated to them anyhow. Ghana should not allow itself to be deceived by a well rehearsed propaganda of hatred against those carrying the eternal blessings of God.

The population of the Middle East is made up of Arabs, Persians, Kurds, Yazidis, Jews,Turks, etc. We should know that the present Palistinians are mostly Arabs. From the 7th Century AD to date, there have been heavy war waged by the Arabs against the non-Arabs with the sole aim of destroying the non-Arabs( Jews, Kurds, Yazidis, etc) from the Middle east. It will interest everybody to know that the Kurds, even-though are non-Arabs are mostly Sunni Muslims, have suffered a lot in the hands of their Arab neighbours( remember the Chemical Ali Saga). Currently, the ISIS has auctioned 12,000 Yazidi girls for slavery and do you know those who bought them? The purchasers are Sunni Arab Muslims and they did that because the Arab men believe the Yazidis are infidels and that their girls are more beautiful than Arab ladies. So you see, the non-Arabs in the middle East have every reason to protect themselves by any means necesary.
On the issue of Ghanaians using Israeli flags I think Kwesi Pratt is being too petty. Has Kwesi Pratt ever asked why some Ghanaians, including a Mega Star like Kwaw Kese, use the Kufiah which is a symbol of the Palestinian Struggle? If Kwesi Pratt wants to position himself as a freedom fighter, then I will sincerely appeal to him to direct his attention to Mauritania, which is in his backyard since Palistine is too far from Ghana, where the few Arabs there have enslaved the majority Black Africans and where slave trade is still being practiced. If Kwesi Pratt cares to know, the Kurds and Yazidis are now pleading for Israeli aid and support since the world has ignored their plight.
So you see, I am not a university graduate yet I know all these but unfortunately, Kwesi Pratt who is a university graduate does not know these simple things. This is how far our useless university graduates have brought us.

We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war” (33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general. The Qur’an says that a man may have sex with his wives and with these slave girls: “The believers must (eventually) win through, those who humble themselves in their prayers; who avoid vain talk; who are active in deeds of charity; who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess, for (in their case) they are free from blame.” (Qur’an 23:1-6)
The rape of captive women is also sanctioned in Islamic tradition:
Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): 0 Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) mentioning al-’azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing ‘azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born. (Muslim 3371)
It is also in Islamic law: “When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman’s previous marriage is immediately annulled.” (Umdat al-Salik O9.13)
The Egyptian Sheikh Abu-Ishaq al-Huwayni declared in May 2011 that “we are in the era of jihad,” and that meant Muslims would take slaves. In a subsequent interview he elaborated:
Jihad is only between Muslims and infidels. Spoils, slaves, and prisoners are only to be taken in war between Muslims and infidels. Muslims in the past conquered, invaded, and took over countries. This is agreed to by all scholars—there is no disagreement on this from any of them, from the smallest to the largest, on the issue of taking spoils and prisoners. The prisoners and spoils are distributed among the fighters, which includes men, women, children, wealth, and so on.
When a slave market is erected, which is a market in which are sold slaves and sex-slaves, which are called in the Qur’an by the name milk al-yamin, “that which your right hands possess” [Koran 4:24]. This is a verse from the Qur’an which is still in force, and has not been abrogated. The milk al-yamin are the sex-slaves. You go to the market, look at the sex-slave, and buy her. She becomes like your wife, (but) she doesn’t need a (marriage) contract or a divorce like a free woman, nor does she need a wali. All scholars agree on this point—there is no disagreement from any of them. […] When I want a sex slave, I just go to the market and choose the woman I like and purchase her.
Around the same time, on May 25, 2011, a female Kuwaiti politician, Salwa al-Mutairi, also spoke out in favor of the Islamic practice of sexual slavery of non-Muslim women, emphasizing that the practice accorded with Islamic law and the parameters of Islamic morality.

Israeli-Palestinian issue is NOT a simplistic discourse. There are hardliners on both divides, and there are people who are on the side of "compromise" too.

Israelis will generally cite SECURITY as a pre-condition for any two-state agreement, yet Palestinians have HUMAN RIGHTS as their issue, tied with a pre-condition of returning to pre-1967 war borders, and at this same juncture, lies the contentious issue of both "SECURITY" and "HUMAN RIGHTS".

Kwasi Pratt, you DO NOT have the KNOW-HOW required to untie a knot of this kind, let alone pull the WEIGHT attached to the rope!!

Vatican recognizes state of Palestine in new treaty

Francis made the compliment during the traditional exchange of gifts at the end of an official audience in the Apostolic Palace. He presented Abbas with a medallion and explained that it represented the "angel of peace destroying the bad spirit of war."

Francis said he thought the gift was appropriate since "you are an angel of peace." During his 2014 visit to Israel and the West Bank, Francis called both Abbas and Israeli President Shimon Peres men of peace.

Abbas is in Rome for the canonization Sunday of two 19th-century nuns from what was then Ottoman-ruled Palestine. The new saints, Mariam Bawardy and Marie Alphonsine Ghattas, are the first from the region to be canonized since the early days of Christianity.

Church officials are holding up the new saints as a sign of hope and encouragement for Christians in the Middle East at a time when violent persecution from Islamic extremists has driven many Christians from the region of Christ's birth.

In a statement Saturday, Abbas praised the two new saints as inspirational models for today's Palestinians and urged their fellow Christians to remain in the region.

"We call on Palestinian Christians to stay with us and enjoy the rights of full and equal citizenship, and bear with us the difficulties of life until we achieve liberty, sovereignty and human dignity," he said.

Abbas' visit comes days after the Vatican finalized a bilateral treaty with the "state of Palestine" that made explicit its recognition of Palestinian statehood.

The Vatican said it had expressed "great satisfaction" over the new treaty during the talks with the Palestinian delegation. It said the pope, and later the Vatican secretary of state, also expressed hopes that direct peace talks with Israel would resume.

"To this end, the wish was reiterated that with the support of the international community, Israelis and Palestinians may take with determination courageous decisions to promote peace," a Vatican statement said.

It added that interreligious dialogue was needed to combat terrorism.

Israel didn't comment on Francis' "angel of peace" compliment but complained that Abbas was using the trip to score political points.

"It is regrettable that Mahmoud Abbas uses international forums to attack Israel and refrains from returning to negotiations which is the right way to implement a political vision and a solution of peace," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon.

Israel earlier had expressed its "disappointment" that the Vatican officially recognized the state of Palestine in the treaty, which covers the activities of the Catholic Church in Palestinian territory.
