"The good citizen must be one who does not allow an elected Government, even if it be of his political party of choice, to take his nation for an avoidable experimentation that would affect good democratic governance and good human capital development through commission or omission or sheer incompetence. Ghana and an NDC Government have fought the menace of drug trafficking and other serious crimes before and can do so again with appropriate commitment from patriotic and visionary leadership."

“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.
He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.
“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”
“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

“You should try the wheelbarrow,” the counselor says. “Lift her legs from behind, and off you go.”
The husband is raring to try it.
“Well, OK,” the hesitant wife agrees, “but on two conditions. First, if it hurts, you have to stop right away, and second, you have to promise we won’t go past my parents’ house.”

For over a hundred years, the Asantehene, his family and members of the Asanteman Council have been receiving royalties ($billions) from companies operasting in Ashanti. As custodians of stool lands, these chiefs have become fabulously rich and continue to live ostentatious and parasitic lifestyles - that even the royal famly in England would envy.
Two years ago,the Asantehene purchased a huge mansion in London - where the rich and famous live - at the cost of $5million.Later on,it was revealed that he also bought another house in South Africa for $2.5 million. Now,the question that was asked was,why would the Asantehene need two multi-million dollar homes in far away England and South Africa? The stupid answer given by some robotic and pavlovian traditionalists, was that he needs the mansions on holidays and when he goes away for check-up.
Now,in Asahanti where mining towns like Obuasi and others are dying(compare Obuasi to Johannesburg,SA); a major hospital like KATH is in bad shape for lack funds;and under-tree schools abound, why is the Asantehene spending profligately abroad? Even one of the richest men in the world - the Saudi king - when he goes to Cleveland,U.S or London - he rents a suite in a hotel for the duration of his treatment.Yet,the Asantehene chooses to spend, spend and spend abroad - and his cronies and some brainwashed "subjects" behave like they have no brains of their own to question the king - in this 21st Century, where accountability and transparency are on the lips of people all over the world(one educated fool then living in the U.S.,complained that a $100million mansion should have been purchased).
Even the royal family in England pays taxes and their spending is scrutinized. But not in Ghana,a backward, rich but poor country where the collective mindset has not changed that much since the 19th Century. Just look around.

If there is a major health institution like KATH with an Engineering Department where people are paid to work, is it the responsibility of the President to see to it that elevators are working?
In fact, blind politics is making so many people lose their sense of reasoning. This is a sad problem which needs to be addressed!!

Nicholas, tell me. Before NDC started building the $20M ultra modern party headquarters, didn't they know there were many pressing problems confronting the nation in various sectors, including health? Couldn't they have used that money to do something better for the nation? What is the use of that party headquarters to Ghana as a nation vs KATH or Korlebu?
The President is the overall CEO of Ghana and hence responsible for setting the nation's priorities right, which he and his NDC party are failing to do. They are rather diverting funds meant for the nation's development to project and promote their party's parochial and selfish interest!!

DO you know the source of the funding of the Headquarters building? Did you find out?
NPP is a political party not in government but managed to raise money to organize the flagbearership election, did you see any need to question the source of that money? If no,why?. Very soon, you will see a fleet of Campaign Vans for the political parties. Agya Mfantse, have you ever questioned the source of funds for such vans in the past? Or in your estimation, the NDC putting up a National Headquarters building, spent so much to raise eyebrows than political parties purchasing, over 200 Campaign Vans in the past?

Nicholas, it seems you don't think before you write. I have a funny feeling that I am wasting my time debating with a fool! How can you expect me to know or be able to find out the source of the funding of the NDC $20M ultra modern headquarters building when Asiedu Nketia (NDC CEO) has made it categorically clear that the party will never disclose the source of the funding?
Secondly, why did the NDC vigorously and persistently deny ownership of the project from its infancy to completion until its inauguration? Are these not enough evidence that the NDC has something to hide from Ghanaians? If the funding source is legitimate, why the refusal to disclose it?
Regarding the NPP sources of finance for its flagbearership elections and fleet of vans for its campaign, it is a foregone conclusion that NPP does not take money from the nation's coffers. You know all too well that, as a party in opposition, it relies on donations from sympathisers, well-wishers and supporters to finance its activities. It has no access to the nation's till, so nobody cares about its finances.
Next time, think before you write, and write sensible things when you write.
