An excellent rendition of our political journey and history. I enjoyed your good recollection of our recent history. However, 1958 All Africa Conference was not mentioned because it was the one which triggered the independence moves in other African countries. Botswana went the gradualism way, towing the Monrovia Group way, while Ghana went the Casablanca way. Nkrumah from US Black Panther background was infected with the racial divide issues which incensed him to be hard on the colonial masters. The name is Ngugi wa Thiongo and not James Ngogi. You have written copiously and expertly. Though long, very informative and educative. Next time, keep it short and simple or serialise it. Kudos

Amaning Kwarteng's piece is 7634-word piece. I don't think any od my pieces comes close. I have gone back to check the inventory of Amaning's pieces on Ghanaweb. Always long and convoluted.
I hope the "Adongo Tongos" will comment on this.
Thanks.

I have read every thing here and liked the first historical past but the second part, an indictment on the ruling NDC is a minefield and hot potato whichsome of us out of principle do not delve into because it is difficult to disprove hearsay. The principle on the web should be KEEP IT SHORT, SIMPLE, AND SWEET( KISS) or better still, serialise it.

It is erroneous to refer to Trans Volta Togoland as modern day Volta region.
Nearly half of what is modern day Volta Region was NOT part of Trans Volta Togoland. Anloga, Keta, Aflao, Peki etc are part of modern day Volta Region but were NEVER part of Trans Volta Togoland.
A large part of what was Trans Volta Togoland is now part of northern region and Upper East of Ghana.
This article contains too many factual errors!

You compare apples with apples, not babble all over again the world. Nobody the regimes you compare with JDM was elected by their people. Ghana has a constitution. Elections every 4 years. We even have primaries in which nearly 2 million people vote. Some political parties, like yours--the NPP, sack their elected chairman! Ours is a democracy, not like the regimes you described in your bogus rumbling. You want another coup? Try carrying a gun in Ghana and see what will happen to you -- loser!
