Whispered the 'bad news' about Mr. Kufour wanting to nail him,how else could the defendant,Abodakpi, have concocted such a lie? And did all the actions that he Mr. Kufour, take regarding that travesty of justice, not lend credence to that priviledged information that Nana did,in fact, share with Mr. Abodakpi? As if to say sorry buddy,my hands are tied in this one, we all know Mr. Abodakpi`s claim has a familiar and plausible ring to it! And yers, having accepted an absolute pardon from Kufour,Mr. Aboakpi should have kept this bit of information for his political memoirs when he was out of active politics;with nothing perrsonal to gain, other than setting the historical record straight!

I read how Akufo-Addo described Abodakpi's claim as motivated by the latter's ambition to seek his Ambassadorial appointment offered by the NDC Administration.
But couldn't Akufo-Addo's denial of Abodakpi's claim be also driven by his desperate ambition to win President Kufuor's support for the Flagbearer position of the NPP? I think Akufo-Addo should have dwelled more on other reasoning to refute the claim instead of this self-smearing charge against the former NDC Minister of Trade.
It could well be that Nana did nothing of the sorts that Abodakpi claimed. But we all know how information leaks in Ghana. There might have been someone other than Nana himself that delivered the message to Abodakpi as to what Nana wanted Kufuor to do about that case. But whether that delivery was surreptitiously directed by Nana or not is the "$64 Million" puzzle. If Nana did have some friendly relationship with Abodakpi prior to the latter's conviction, could Nana have just created the impression of his reluctance to see the culprit jailed, so that he might not seem like betraying their friendship for being part of the decision to jail Abodakpi? The best option for Nana under such circumstance would have been recusing himself formally from the case, even though he wasn't the Judge adjudicating the case. As an Attorney-General, however, he, Nana, was in direct charge of how to treat the charges against the culprit.
Meanwhile, the Professor's analysis makes much sense, and could well be the accidental revelation of the underlying truth in the whole story.
But we should not let the probable motive of the Professor's to attempt to establish that Nana is covering for President Kufuor be lost on us. The Professor has long chastised the former President for not helping Nana enough in the previous Elections, and preferring Alan to Nana for the NPP Flagbearership. So, there is the likelihood that the Prof.'s real reason for trying to find a poignant reason to reject Nana's refutation of Abodakpi's claim is so Kufuor could be exposed as the unscrupulous, uncharitable person that the Prof. wants him to be. It is highly unlikely the Prof. cares enough about Abodakpi to just empathetically establish his credulity in the case.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Regardless of the right and wrong of Mr Abodakpi's revelation/claims, Nana Akufo-Addo has to overcome his bitterness and feeling of betrayal by ex-President Kufour. Nana Akufo-Addo's released statement is so innately revealing. As one of Ghana's most distinguished politicians and lawyer, Nana Akufo-Addo's ambiguous and elliptical language used in his statement could be interpreted as denying something you yourself know to be true. As a Presidential material, there is no excuse for naivety and unconscious payback.
How believable is Mr Abodakpi's revelation? Is the disclosure the product of Mr Abodakpi's fertile imagination? It becomes harder and harder not to see some element of truth in Mr Abodakpi's revelation.
