There was no country called "Ghana" before 6th March, 1957. So how can the Ewes voted to secede from an entity that was not in existence?

MINOR CASE, know your history. It was only tue Ewes around Ho, Kpandu, Hohoe who voted not to be an integral part of Gold Coast that was going to become Ghana on independence. That was because they were never part of the Gold Coast but a UN Trust Territory. They even formed less than half the Ewes then. The rest of the Ewes - Anlos, Someys, Tongu, Peki, etc were all integral parts of the Gold Coast and did not even vote during the plebiscite. They cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, be called "mate meho".
The Anlos had been part of the Gold Coast since around 1860 - long before the Asantes became officially part of the Gold Coast around 1940. That is why the Anlos become furious when people like you call them Togolese. They were never part of German Togoland and had never been ruled by the Germans. They had never sought to leave the Gold Coast either!

Keep on airbrushing Ghana's pre and post independence history. Bandying words about is not another way of telling the truth. Since you're so obsessed with Busia/Danquah hatred could you for once explain to readers how Francis "Kofi" Nwiah became "Kwame" Nkrumah? Kofi to Kwame?

Hello Abrampa,
Thta's your weekend homewrok.
I do not care a bit if Kofi is Ama, Esi, Adjoa, Kwame, Jomo Keyatta, Mawusi, or Ellen Johnson.
What I care is Esi's unparalleled rich and influential legacy.
Go do your homework and come back to tell me how "q" became "k" or "c." You are talking about extraneities.
That is what some Ghanaweb readers are known for. Not dealing with substanstive issues but with irrelevancies.
You like to ask questions but always run from mine. Some readers and I have asked you several questions which you have failed to answer. Please go back, answer them, and I shall help you answer your question here. DON'T RUN AWAY THIS TIME.
And if "name calling is not a reasoned debate" as you rightly claim, then, my good friend, leave "Kofi" and "Kwame" alone, after all, you and I have the right to choose whatever names we choose for ourselves.
Let's talk serious business. Enjoy the political satire.
Anyway, I am not deterred by name calling. Do I even care? Not in the least. The more bashing I get, the more I come to realize my bashers need more of the issues they complain about. And I will give them more. That is why I love Ghanaweb.
