This is insipid, Pryce: “The Rawlings-superintended putsch of 1979 culminated in the disappearance of thousands of innocent Ghanaians whose families are still searching for their loved ones thirty-four years after this horrid episode in the nation’s history.”
Pryce, who are those thousands? This is a purely brazen fabrication.
Why you guys leave Boakye Gyan, the inventor of the firing squad, beats the hell out of me. Lately, I have been disappointed with Rawlings’ media sorties beating chests, teasing and justifying the death of those military officers, but that’s coming from someone who mulishly refuses to understand that failure to stem corruption when he could have been more successful than anyone else, doesn’t make those coups worth mulling over in retrospect.
Let me remind here that Rawlings and Boakye Gyan developed aversion to each other strictly because of debates generated in the top echelons of the AFRC about the number of military officers drawn up for execution by the latter, which was drastically reduced. Left to Rawlings alone the list would NEVER have seen the lights of day despite his latest posturing and resolve to take responsibility for the events.
That coup couldn’t have come at another propitious moment. Why didn’t we maintain the principles of accountability etc. on which the coup was based? Who called for democracy?

Some have argued that the majority of Ghanaians welcomed the 1979 coup. I differ, and I'll tell you why. People embraced the coup because they were afraid that any form of resistance could lead to their disappearing in the middle of the night, a common occurrence at the time. In other words, many people pretended to embrace the coup simply to save their skins.
The second reason was that people did not know much about the coup plotters at the time, so they were willing to "wait and see" what the fallouts would be, and they were not "disappointed."
As we know today, that period was nothing more than a reign of terror, with people so afraid of soldiers, it felt like we were second-class citizens to those in military garb. I saw with my own eyes how innocent citizens were beaten, kicked, and tortured in plain sight, so no one should tell me that I was too young to understand what had taken place.
Boakye Djan liberated Rawlings from jail all right, but was Rawlings not the head of the junta? Generally, it is the heads of organizations who take the blame for mishaps that take place under their watch.

“People embraced the coup because they were afraid that any form of resistance could lead to their disappearing in the middle of the night, a common occurrence at the time.”
You can’t prove a thing, Pryce. This is complete trash. It doesn’t make you wise, and in fact, it does create the contrary effect, especially in this case.
People didn’t even know JJR before his first coup attempt that was foiled, and the subsequent arrest. The magic blurb at the time was “LEAVE MY MEN ALONE, I AM RESPONSIBLE”. It was also Rawlings’ daunting “It sounds rather stupid to ask me of my motives for a coup when…” when he was being tried. This “insult” thrown like hot water in the face of a line of very principle-destitute Military officers at the first court-martial when Rawlings could have been shivering of his impendng sentence at that trial was picked up by Legon University students who for the first time were now exposed to information about serious malversations orchestrated not only by Military officers but also by foreigners in Ghana including the Lebanese. This caused disruption in the trial and coerce adjournment. The support and frenetic euphoria that ensued in the wake of those events never ended. People were so surprised to the extent that the encouragement and challenge thrown out to the military junta came automatically, including those who went on later asking for blood to flow.
“A common occurrence!” And you think affirming as truthful a blatant lie like this make you a credible person? Your detractors would be laughing, Pryce; I never knew you could peddle this much untruth. Who disappeared in the night in exception of the judges and a military officer we later knew were by the orders of Kwei?
For starters, it is very unwise to say military officers would go into the night and abduct people when they can line up people and execute them by firing squad. Who were they afraid of? They had the guns and the civil populations have nothing. Among those Military officers were some who were so principled things would have gone normal had a few stupid ones known how to behave.
In Kaneshie one day, that was immediately after the takeover by Boakye Gyan and co., touching only the Pinzgauer landed me a slap by a military officer. I was about to fall so I held the truck. Would you say it was JJR who ordered that, and many other beatings that occurred to certain individuals? I managed to pick the number of the vehicle and made the officer to suffer the consequence of his actions without even any relative knowing about it. AFRC saw to it: If reported military officer found to have unjustly bullied anyone was reprimanded or punished.
“Boakye Djan liberated Rawlings from jail all right, but was Rawlings not the head of the junta?”
Where were you when Boakye Gyan said not quite long ago in 2012, before the presidential elections he was in charge of the AFRC? Boakye Gyan was running things from the background. Go and ask him. He shortlisted the number of people to be executed. He was the “president” of the junta. A scuffle trailed a debate that the list was too much.
In actual fact, this affair belongs to history, but frankly over the executions, I don’t regret it one bit. It reminds that sometimes while at the helms of affairs of a country like ours conscience must exercised and that people ought to understand the country is for all of us. It was a mark that, apart from everything else, that a coup happened and people got shot for what they shouldn’t have done, period. It can’t be reversed.
If we were not a stupid people in an equally stupid historical embodiment, we would not have forgotten so soon what happened those days; in short, our country should have toppled corruption long ago.
We NEVER learn in Ghana, so for some of you to have expressly chosen to forget dirty events that prompt its corresponding response from Military officers, it is understandable why Ghana will difficultly step out of the cycle we find ourselves in.
Finally, it is not only guns that kill citizens in a given state: collective malfeasance by politicians and refusal to stem lethargy kills more.

You must have been reading me so you know my stance concerning my exasperation with Rawlings' sorties as I indicated up in my earlier submission, even ones predating this present article.

I am not against your article, far from it. I just want you to include a little reality; real world looks like that and that's a mark of fidelity to cause.
Unless you've not been raised in the Volta, we were taught to most always sustain the truth. I like you because I know you used to telling it as it is.
Finally, talking everyday about this as JJR himself does is simply refusing to let go of some of our worst times in our history. Sometimes, I loath having to wake up and think that in the past, we had to form a long queue to buy a tin of milk or carbolic soap you might not get anyway because underhand negotiations might have had all sold before we others arrive, and that a lady hoarder about twice my age would make me stay with her for hours in the night before I could lay my hands on some guardian soaps for school. I was in my mid-teens!

The barbarism and the unconscionable acts of murder still remains a misery to Ghanaians. The transition from military rule to democratic rule has still not resulted in the dividends often associated with any progressive society because the constitution still remains largely a dictatorial or unprogressive constitution. All what the constitution sought to do was to make the president supreme by according him absolute power, and this has been the bane of our underdevelopment more than two decades down the line.

Dear Daniel Pryce
Certainly you have an objective of taking time to write this article in the first place; and secondly getting it on to Ghanaweb!
You have the freedom to start an new crusade against JJR.
But let me tell you, without that, that "your 12-year-old mind" in 1981 in Hohoe township would not certainly know much, other than to read and (believe) what some other may have taken time to write too.
No matter how reckless JJR is/was, no matter how UNSAVOURY hi taste was, I remain a disciple of his forever and ever.
JRR doesn't know me in person. I suffered brutal whipping on June 6 1979 as a youth, (same I suffered when we were arrested by Acheampong on the suspicion that we students were being influenced by GW Amarteifio to campaign against UNIGOV) - YET I WAS A TEENAGER - and moreso, I was again brutally whipped in July 1982 for not a single fault of mine.
Mr Pryce, JJR did not supervise any these things that happened to me. I hated his regime being in charge as such things happened to me; but I LOVE JJR till I die. I will do anything for him, anywhere, anytime, even to protect his physical person.
The gents who under liquor did those things at Hohoe, please try and reach him/them and enquire whether they ever MET Jerry Rawlings. My late mother was brought to the BIG TREE in my village and disgraced. My father's concubine was flogged. But Jerry never came to my Tanyigbe village.
You also wrote that "....One convincing theory has, over the years, been put forth to explain the murders: some PNDC apparatchiks were disillusioned with the retired army officer because the latter had personally engineered the firing of a number of GIHOC employees with ties to the government. When these GIHOC employees appealed to the High Court, the female judge, who heard the case, upheld the firings, leading to mass hysteria among the employees....".
Above cannot be correct. it is traceable to the internet, that GIHOC Workers demonstrated under PNP rule, entered Parliament and consumed the food there. The GIHOC Workers, the Article write said, were arrested and presented to court by Major Acquah- the GIHOC Personnel Manager; and these workers were said to be tried and jailed by a PANEL of Judges (ALL 3 WHO WERE MURDERED) not only the female Judge.
This, we read, was the reason why the GIHOC UNION Chairman who became a member of Govt in PNDC, their colleagues planned to use him also to "do" those Judges and the Personal Manager Major Acquah. The writer asked Judicial service to prove his claim about the trial Panel wrong.
Mr Pryce, at Adidome recently, it's like an old grandfather telling his little ones what happened between Ewes when Asante marched all the way from Kumasi and destroyed even the Bremen Mission Church Bell at Ho. I do not think JJR was TOASTING the execution of those Generals. To me, he was telling the young ones WHAT ACTUALLY TRANSPIRED AT THE TIME.
This is how I understand Jerry Rawlings. I love the man.
The Utuka children said they knew that their father's death was orchestrated by names that they gave. Others also said that Boakye Gyan orchestrated Akwasi Afrifa's execution. Indeed, JJR couldn't stand in the way of the HEAT at the time, if you care to know.
He would have been wiped off in a second. Makola had to be destroyed. It had to, because IT WAS AN EMPIRE. A "NO-GO" area.
Please find out more.

Murder of 3 Judges: What you would not like to hear
Fellow Ghanaians
We mourn the loss of any grannie who is even over a 100 years of age. We mourn when a woman has a miscarriage of an advanced pregnancy. I personally remember weeping when listening to the GBC commentary of the burial service of Justice Nii Armah Ollenu. I equally shed tears during the solemn ceremonies during the burial of John Archie Casely Hayford (?) and tears freely flow down my cheeks when Maj-Gen Mensah Wood was being buried. Just on TV or on Radio. I do not know, personally, any of the above dignitaries.
So we do not love death. I take no pleasure in the death or killing of people. But for some deaths during June 4 and early PNDC rule, no force on earth could have stopped them. It was a volcanic action. Fellow Ghanaians, there are some people who, when they hate you, that’s that. No reverse of mind. Events of June 4 and 31 December were better reconciled and not PROBED. This probing will be RE-PROBED and RE-REPROBED by generations unborn.
I do not have a vote, nor do I seek to win any politician for or against JJR with this piece. Who on earth says JJR has not apologized to Ghanaians over the wrongs of these dates? Please ask GBC to replay their recording of events which took place when the State organized a National Program honouring EPHRAIM AMU (alive) at the NATIONAL THEATRE. I cannot remember the exact date, except I come back to Ghana to check my books. But it was between 1992 and 1994. Amanfour, JJR apologized to Ghana! JJR appeared very sober and was shown barely sobbing.
Murder of Judges: My sympathies to the families. But where does JJR get involved in these at all? Only because it occurred under his PNDC Government. I was working at GIHOC Steelworks under Dr William Sam (General Manager); Dr de-heer Johnson (Admin Manager); Capt de-Graft Yeboah (Head of Personnel) and Addison (Divisional Accountant). Tema Steel was under Ghana Industrial Holding Corp (GIHOC) located at Labone, Accra. GIHOC Managing Director was Dugan; Board Chairman was Brig Nunno Mensah; and Director of Personnel was Major Acquah. Major Acquah was the in-law of Brig. Nunno-Mensah. Nunno-Mensah's little brother was believed to be Annan Mensah who was at Electrical Shop and lived at Tema Newtown.
Now draw the line form here.
Major Acquah: GIHOC Director of Personnel (Under Dugan). GIHOC Workers Branch of ICU of TUC organized a demonstration during PNP rule. National Chairman of the Union was Joachim Amartey Kwei. Our leaders were arrested over alleged excesses during the demonstration at Parliament. They were sent to court. They were tried by the late 3 MURDERED Justices of the Bench. (Judicial Secretary, please prove me wrong). They were sanctioned by our Personnel Director Major Acquah. Verify these records and prove me wrong!!
When December 31 struck, the PNDC was formed consisting of a Former Justice of the High Court, a Student Leader, a Reverend Father, Ordinary Soldiers, and a Trade Unionist. Joachim Amartey Kwei was the Trade Unionist. To all those ex-GIHOC Workers who will like to bother to comment, please tell all the world to hear that many of us wanted "JUSTICE" for Major Acquah, the Judges who tried our Union Leaders and even Brig Nunno-Mensah our GIHOC Board Chairman. JJR and Kojo Gbagbladza were not in our Union. If, as members of Government, they provided logistics to our Amartey Kwei for him to do "JUSTICE" to those we found enemies during our demonstration, I cannot say. But all said and done, some of us GIHOC Workers who were peeved by the arrest of our Leaders, felt we should also use Amartey and should eliminate them.
To the bereaved families, including the family of Amartey Kwei, May God comfort you all. The MURDER OF THE 3 JUDGES & THE RTD ARMY MAJOR was the wish of GIHOC Workers like myself. Killing is no good. But please, this has happened. Fellow Ghanaians, let it be. Honourable Ghanaians, and to one DANIEL AMPOMAH who operates the Website "prosecute-rawlings.com", all those who are peeved by other atrocities of the two regimes, all those who would not like ever to forgive JJR for having ruled Ghana as a half-caste, please let us move Ghana ahead. I have my own sufferings under June 4 and Dec 31 but do not see any need to publicise these.
Bygones are bygones.
Free JJR and Kojo Gbagbladza from these accusations and hold we GIHOC Workers responsible. May Father God touch your hearts.

Exposing the Beneficiaries of the Judges Murder
Those behind 22 year long conspiracy of lies and character assassination.
Four individuals perish on that fateful night of June 30, 1982; they were cold-bloodedly murdered by four soldiers. Three of these soldiers were caught, tried and sentenced to death by execution. One other, Lance Cpl. Samuel Amedeka who had recruited them, was caught but escaped from jail during a coup attempt against the PNDC and to date is still at large.
The mastermind of the murders, as was later revealed by Amedeka and the other soldiers was Amartey Kwei, at the time a member of the PNDC. His life was not spared either; he was competently tried and sentenced to death by execution. The four fully paid for their crime.
There is however a group of persons walking freely today who are worse than the five who were behind the 1982 murders. These persons are worse and even though they have not committed the physical murder; they are. Because they wickedly capitalized on the murders that were committed, to further destroy Amartey Kwei by manipulating a beleaguered man, whose conscience was already heavily weighing him down on account of the killings he had masterminded; these utterly wicked people, worsened Amartey Kwei’s predicament by maneuvering him to put out the wicked lie that Capt. Kojo Tsikata was the principal mastermind of the crime. To physically kill, they say, is horrible but to literally destroy the soul of an innocent person or group of persons as these have done for 22 years, is worse than the most horrendous physical assassination.
How did they do this and what was their motivation? These are the questions that this expose will endeavor to bring into the open. But before this, may we pray that the souls of all these victims may rest in peace.
How many victims are there? Initially four, those who perished in the night of June 30; but then the four soldiers who killed them were victims also to an extent – victims of the lie told them by the mastermind of the murder, that the four individuals were enemies of the revolution that must be ‘liquidated’ as Amedeka had put it. It may be hard to accept, but even Amartey Kwei, the mastermind was a victim somewhat; initially a victim of blind rage and revenge that misled him to conceive and bring to fruition the brutal murders, but later a victim of a sordid and wicked manipulation of the real beneficiaries of the 1982 murders who are still here with us.
Amartey Kwei’s Historic Statement.
To truly find who these wicked personalities are, we need to highlight a bit more the circumstances that surrounded the second statement of Amartey Kwei implicating for the first time Capt. Kojo Tsikata. Amartey Kwei had been arrested on November 8, 1982. The first statement he made to the SIB was done a week later on the 15th November. Nowhere in that statement was the mane of Capt. Tsikata mentioned.
The SIB claimed that Amartey Kwei volunteered to make a new statement on 23rd November 1982. Amazingly at the very time this “historic statement” was being produced there was widespread bloody fighting as a major coup attempt was being waged against the PNDC. What a great sense of timing Amartey Kwei had! A day earlier, on 22nd November 1982, Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah (now a kingpin of the NPP) issued his letter of resignation as chief of Defense Staff and Member of the PNDC. Another classic case of perfect timing, one might say. Among the reasons he gave for resigning was that “people in responsible positions’ were involved in the murder of the judges. This was on the eve of a major coup attempt against the PNDC. A coincidence?
The two gentlemen whom the SIB claimed took Amartey Kwei’s statement at the time serious military confrontation were raging all over the capital, were Chief Superintendent Yidana and ASP Oduro. In what can only be described as an amazing show of cool-headedness, these two with incredible serenity were supposed to have calmly looked on, as Amartey Kwei dictated his statement, went over it with them, had it recorded by them and signed it in front of them.
The Plot thickens
So far so good it would seem – but it turned out that the two, who were members of the SIB’s technical investigating team, were linked to the coup of 23rd November; which led to the arrest of Yidana. So how reliable was the statement taken by these two coup plotters, on the very day the coup was being staged, some hours after the Chief of Defense Staff and member of the PNDC, Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah had tendered his resignation? Was there a link that joined all these seemingly coincidental happenings? Yidana’s blatant evasiveness during his cross-examination before the SIB would strongly point in that direction coupled with the dodgy conduct of the SIB with regards to the evidence of Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah, which we will presently touch on.
In a poor attempt to explain away the questionable circumstances under which the SIB chose to hear Brig. Nunoo-Mensah in camera, the bizarre explanation was given that during the SIB’s deliberations at the office of its Chairman on the 7th December 1982 exactly two weeks after the coup attempt, Brig. Nunoo-Mensah arrived there with the Principal Secretary of the Interior Ministry with a message that the Brigadier was about to leave the country and was thus required by the government before he would be permitted to leave. The SIB thus claimed that it was compelled under the circumstances to hear him in camera. How very intriguing?
But that’s not all. The real deal is this: two days after this camera appearance before the SIB, Brig. Nunoo-Mensah made a further handwritten statement for the SIB. And like Amartey Kwei, this second statement can also be described as historic. If Amartey Kwei has implicated Captain Kojo Tsikata, Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah sought to finish off what Amartey Kwei had begun; but there was one major miscalculation – the kind that is familiarly committed by all people who attempt to lie and cover up dirty trails. He failed to reconcile the dates properly before opening his mouth wide.
The Unbelievable Discrepancy
It would be recalled that he had resigned from the PNDC on 22nd November 1982; at the time he said one of the reasons was that “people in responsible positions” were behind the killings. Now on the 9th December, he asserts the he was specifically referring to Capt. Kojo Tsikata and cites the statement of Amartey Kwei as his source of information. How clinical! How Neat!
Hear what the Brigadier submitted to the SIB; “In my letter of resignation on the 22nd November 1982, I mentioned that among the reasons that compelled me to leave the Government was the indication that certain important political personalities might be implicated in this sordid act. My reason for saying this was based on Amartey Kwei’s confession statement in which he had admitted complicity and also indicated that Captain Tsikata masterminded the operation. I had no evidence outside this.
The Brigadier and hid friends at the SIB however forgot there was a damning discrepancy in the dates, which would expose the grand conspiracy of lies, viciousness and subterfuge in due course. How both the Brigadier and the SIB could fail to realize that the Brigadier’s resignation letter was written a day earlier than Amartey Kwei’s statement and therefore could not have been used as source of information, would long remain a subject of wonder. But there it was. The Brigadier on and is SIB friends completely lost sight of this Mega Discrepancy. We can say that the God of truth truly rules in the affairs of men.
How did the Brigadier foreknow what Amartey Kwei was going to do the following day, unless those who manipulated Amartey Kwei into changing his earlier statement, had also hinted the Brigadier on or before 22nd November 1982 of the impending change of statement. If this were the case, then adding up the coincidence of the coup attempt the very next day in which two key personalities of the SIB were connected, one can only wonder at the intricate web of subterfuge that this operation involved!
Placed against the backdrop of widespread CIA successful contacts with key individuals in the country at the time, with a view to overthrowing the PNDC, clear picture starts to emerge.
The SIB obviously realized this goof too late so the Board chose not to include the statement in its list of exhibits in Appendix B, on page 73 of its report. How significant! More than that the fact that in its report the SIB deliberately wrongly cited the letter of resignation of the Brigadier as having been tendered on December 22 instead of November 22, a classic case of desperation to justify the unjustifiable.
A Case of Classic Conspiracy
In its final report, the SIB in paragraph 333, pretended, as though Brig. Nunooo-Mensah did not name to the Board which individual in responsible position he claimed was behind the crimes. What else can account for this deliberate pretence except the fact that this whole thing was an integral part of a diabolical conspiracy? What else could explain the SIB’s decision to discount Amedeka’s clear and consistent pronouncements clearing Capt. Tsikata’s name, but chose to rather uphold Amartey Kwei’s obviously mendacious allegations.
What else except a vicious conspiracy could account for the SIB’s dogged dismissal of the statements of P.V. Obeng and Goozie Tanoh on the whereabouts of Capt. Tsikata in the afternoom of 2 to 3pm on 30th June 1982, without even questioning them for clarification whilst choosing to believe Amartey Kwei’ lie on that issue? A further proof of Amartey Kwei’s mendacity in this particular issue is the recent revelation that one of Amartey Kwei’s former colleagues has admitted the he went and showed Amartey Kwei the homes of the victims.
What else but evil conspiracy could explain the reason why the SIB report failed to mention the statements of Nanfuri and Major Agbenoto in which statements Amedeka’s affirmation of no connection with Capt. Tsikata was unmistakably accentuated?
If there were no conspiracy why could Amedeka under cross-examinaion by Tsatsu Tsikata go as far as to point to a member of the investigation team then present, as having persistently attempted to lure him to bring in the of Capt. Tsikata? Thank God that Amedeka and his colleagues stood their ground and refused to further soil their consciences by joining the obvious vicious conspiracy. They may have been deceived to commit murders but they certainly still had a minimum sense of truth and moral rectitude to refuse to join another dastardly plot. What else but a wicked conspiracy could explain the conduct of the chairman of the SIB in interrupting Tsatsu Tsikata’s cross examination of Amartey Kwei at many points when the latter was cornered, and in allowing Kwei to get away with rudeness and cheekiness? History definitely repeats itself as can be seen in what recently occurred at the NRC when the obviously biased Chairman, another justice, allowed pathological liars like Adabuga and Chris Asher (the fraudster, the alleged murderer and the fugitive from justice) to get away with rudeness and cheekiness during cross-examination.
The Motivation
What could have been the motivations of the conspirators? Get Kojo Tsikata implicated. Overthrow the PNDC with the aid of external collaborators and use the implication of Kojo Tsikata in the murders as justification for the coup. That was smart calculation and largely explains the pivotal happenings on both 22nd and 23rd November. Amartey Kwei obviously must have been promised some lenient consideration as the coupists, if successful would have used his confession to establish that he and the others were mere pawns in the hands of Captain Tsikata. Poor Amartey Kwei! The horrible crime of masterminding the murders of four people was bad enough. He further succumbed also the temptation to implicate an innocent man in addition to the horrible crimes he had conceived and implemented. No wonder that, when in his last moments, he was offered the opportunity to cleanse his soul before meeting his maker, he avidly sized the chance graciously offered him by his friend Flt. Lt. Rawlings at the firing squad to profusely apologize to Capt. Tsikata for the wicked lies that he had uttered against him. Thank goodness that he at least had the final courage to dispel, even if only a little, the thick cloud of accumulated culpability he had carried for many months.
Thank goodness also that the Daily Graphic of 22nd August 1983 reported the late Kwei’s confessions on its from page. But for that report in the Graphic, the collaboration of the wicked lies and distortion would have even been more emboldened today to continue to befoul the environment with their horrible lies.
Despite all the Evidence
Despite all these clear evidences, these wicked conspirators with the aid of their collaborators in power today and their media mercenaries have continued to clutch at straws, choosing to overlook this mountain-high pile of evidence of conspiracy and rather depend on past falsehoods, newly churned fabrications from equally desperate liars and completely innocuous and immaterial evidences like the fact that the keys to the vehicles were picked in Mrs. Rawlings’ flat. (Read last week’s issue of the Lens to understand the ludicrous nature of this last claim.)
Some desperate attempts have also been made by these people to also create the impression the President Rawlings must have been involved somewhat because he did know about the murders before the broadcast since Amartey Kwei was suppose to have informed him in a meeting on July 2, 1982. First, this famous meeting on July has been categorically denied by key personalities who were supposed to have been present; i.e. Captain Tsikata and Tsatsu Tsikata.
Besides, assuming without accepting that the Justice Aikins’ famous July 2 meeting did occur as stated by him, does the supposed and traumatized reaction of Rawlings upon hearing the news, not constitute ample evidence of his innocence? And following upon that logic, would it not be the paramount duty of a conscientious head of state not to go ahead to into putting that, as yet unverified information in a public broadcast, when there was as yet no independent confirmation of what Amartey Kwei was supposed to have said?
Was it not the duty of a good leader to condemn such a wicked crime and was it not the truth that whoever committed those crimes could only have been enemies of the fledging revolution? A friend is not the one who claims to share a collective ideal but one whose deeds are consistent with those ideals. Amartey and the four by that dastardly act showed clearly that they were essentially at variance with the aims of the revolution, and by the logic were well qualified to be described as enemies of the revolution. But the bottom line is that President Rawlings had nothing whatsoever to do with the crimes and those who are bent on carrying along these lines, very well know this for a fact, but for sinister political reasons continue heedlessly to do so.
The final Plea
We deliberately do not want to even concern ourselves with the recent claims and allegations of thoroughly discredited and questionable characters like Chris Asher the fraudster and fugitive from justice; neither do we want to take seriously the largely amnesic renditions of aged and quasi-senile Justice Aikins, whose testimony and those of the two others blatantly contradicted each other. These simply do not merit the attention of any serous minded analyst of these issues.
In conclusion, shall we make a final appeal to the little that is left of the conscience of the this wicked gang of conspirators, and their present day collaborators by asking them to ponder over the following questions Captain Tsikata posed to the members of the NRC: “How would you feel if you were falsely accused before the world of such a crime? How would you feel if even after you have been cleared and allegations retracted, the same allegations continue to be repeated and brought up again and again as if they were true? Is there no end to the propagation of these false accusations?”

No one can justify some of the atrocities of the June 4th and the 31st December uprisings in Ghana .But one should not forget that there is no uprising in this world that had no atrocities . I am writing as a trained police officer .If you were above 12years old when June 4th came into existence , you will understand why it is necessary at that time. The coming of Rawlings put fears into the lives of Ghanaians when they plan to cause trouble. One army officer can control the whole of osu when there is a riot .why ? you want me to give you the answer ? not now .I remembered in 1996 election time when some young men decided to cause trouble when N D C party was to hold a rally in accra. They went there and lo and behold they met this young army officer in uniform with his weapon at the entrance .do you know what happened ? this one , i will tell you .The guys upon seeing the officer they coiled into their shells. They wanted to run for a dear life when the officer asked them where are you going ? one of them reply ;is this not the funeral ground of the late doctor ? the officer reply i dont think so .Then one of them said ao ! we have lost our way .The action of Rawlings and his men then put some kind of fears into
Ghanaians .Now its time we forget the past and think of what is ahead of us .Rawlings shaped Ghana and no one can deny that unless you are against the truth. a Revolutionary turned into a Democrat ; Lets give praise when it is due and condemn with caution.God bless our homeland Ghana

I think that some of you must try very hard to shut your mouths when it comes to issues of these nature. I´m not going to waste my precious time on this rubbish of yours, for the simple reasons that, you were a mere 12 years boy in Hohoe, the district capital of where Utuka came from as you said, and knows nothing about what you are talking about.
I still believe that Ghanaians are not all that stupid like some of you think, to just come on this forum and spit "basura" from your mouths against Rawlings, and expect discerning Ghanaians, who lived throughout that period before, during and after the revolution to buy into your hallucinations. You can say whatever you like about the man Rawlings, to relieve yourself of frustrations and despeartions, but that will not change what he stood for and what Ghanaians know him for. Who told you that the revolutions was supported by a segment of Ghanaians? It was supported by the entire nations, with the exception of those whose family members were in power, looting this country, of which your Utuka was no exception.
If you don´t have anything sensible to say, just give us a break to fix the economy! By the way, what do you hope to gain from this trash? I look forward to the day when you would make a single sense on this forum. The other day, it was Allan Kyeremanten becoming president and using his magical powers to turn the economy round. Today, it is Jerry Rawlings who is a murderer, as you want Ghanaians to know. I just want to tell you that, you are too "kankani" to talk about those events because you know nothing about it. And no outsiders can come and tell us, Ghanaians that they knew so much about those events more than we ourselves who witnessed them first hand as you are trying to tell Ghanaians. Just shut up you hillipolla! Callate ! You are a waste and thank God, Ghanaians have already known you as a double standard person. Is there any difference between you and Ahoofe, whom you have often casigated and spoken ill of? Ghana, would be a better place without your types. Give us a break if Jerry is the only killer you know of in this country!

I would not have written this piece but for Rawlings' justification of the killings in his speech at Adidome recently. One would think that, after all these years, Rawlings, the so-called statesman, would understand that it is despicable to continue to push his finger into the eyes of the relatives of the ex-heads of state and senior military officers who lost their lives under brutal conditions.
People were shot in 1979 for taking a bank loan, but what do we see today? Rawlings constantly berates Kufuor and the NPP administration, yet kalabule was taking place under the late President Mills, and it is no different in President Mahama's administration! And this is Rawlings' party, folks!
My condemning Rawlings' behavior does not mean that I hate the man. Far from it! In fact, I hate no one. But we need to tell the truth as it is, and this is what distinguishes me from many bootlickers on this forum.

You claimed Acheampong arrested you and went at length to attempt to clear the murderer from his murders. The unigov debate was not in 1979. You and the Rawlings lovers are liers.
