Okoampa himself is as guilty as Kwesi Pratt. He's written tomes of articles seeking to diminish Nkrumah's importance just so to valorise J.B. Danquah's nationalist exploits. But isn't it possible to acknowledge the contribution of both nationalist leaders? You see, Okoampa and Kwesi Pratt speak from two different extremes, taking shots at each other, but they more reflect each other than they'd care to admit! They're like what the NPP and NDC have both become in our national politics.

Yaw, in former times, I would have sided with you immediately. I hated Dr. Ahoofe's pieces with a passion; however, recently, I decided to investigate what may be the motivation behind the way this guy writes, and I came away with a fascinating observation, to wit, Dr. Ahoofe does not just write to run his mouth, though I still think he does to a certain extent, but rather to also educate.
If you could go beyond his patently confrontational and deliberately long-winded prose, you would realize that his writings have a characteristic style; and all great writers go to great lengths to develop their own unique styles. Hemingway was known for his short, choppy, bare-bone sentences. Faulkner was famous for his long, breathless sentences.
In view of the observation above, I would suggest that besides reading Dr. Ahoofe's writings for their informational content, you may also read him to savor and learn good examples of writing/prose styles.
Does this mean I am endorsing or promoting Dr. Ahoofe? No, and no again. I still think he is a verbal bully, and needlessly too cantankerous; however, I, unlike most people who have banished him outright from their ghanaweb reading experience, am willing to, grudgingly though, accord him some due respect for the literary heft he 'teases" into his writings.
