Somebody should tell Ahootan; this Akyem monkey ZEALOT that there is nothing like AKAN hegemony. If anything there is a historical fact of Akyems backstabbing of Asantis by helping the British to scout their way to defeat the Asantis in the Yaa Asantewaa war which at the end saw the very sad and forcibly removal of the royal Family of Asantis by being disgracefully exiled to Seychelles. Today Ghanaian names like Kofi, Kwame, Ama, Yaa etc in Seychelles are testimony to this sad Episode in Gold Coast/ Ghanaian history.

For their betrayal of Asantes the Akyem kings and kinsmen wards were awarded scholarships to UK of which the chief beneficiary was JB Danquah. He got that award not through merit but through Akyem Sabotage. So tell Ahootan Okoamboni that there is nothing like Akan unison; the discord was sown by his Nihilist Akyem tribesmen. This primitive endless fool should just shut his face and come face to face with the fact that the first coup that set precedence in Ghana was initiated by his Mate Meho knaves. Rawlings was made possible thanks again to Mate Meho knaves among them Kufuor of PFP who cried foul not because president Limann was incompetent but because of their hate that a pepeni was sitting at the Osu Castle.

Ahootan, you can talk about your primitive folk but never ever sweep all Akans with a broad brush. Your agenda has already failed because you have failed in life. You are a loser. Now vanish into you RAT HOLE before I pull my colt. What an idiot before the lord!

I do not blame Rawlings for his outbursts but the intellectuals who stood by and allowed this dunderhead to preside over the affairs of the country for almost 20 years. That eloquence projected by the 'enchanting' writing skills could have been used to inspire us to do what is right by Ghana, in the very least.

You could have made your point more readable and ultimately, more comprehensive. You need to use your common sense to understand that what you send to be read in public is indeed for the public and not for yourself. You should know this at your age. POOR REASONING IN POMPOUS ENGLISH

Compatriots,

I have not posted feature articles on this wall for some time owing to other pressing projects. But I am not surprised Okoampa Pee Aach Dee is still an unconscionable ethnic chauvinist, who still reasons and writes in bad English.

This article is highly incoherent, ill-argued, devoid of clear sentence constructions and even surreal. One can hardly accept it as good English befitting a supposed 'professor' of English in a backwater US college.

True to character he states a position only to undermine it a little later with poor didactic reasoning:

'I have no problem, whatsoever, hearing Rawlings gush adamantly about sticking to his largely self-righteous principles of the so-called December 31st Revolution - namely, probity, accountability, transparency, freedom and justice.'

A little later we learn he has serious problems with what he had said two paragraphs earlier:

'For example, what kind of an upright leader enrolls his own children in expensive private schools while he smugly presides over the total degeneration of our public educational system? And also ships his own children and relatives abroad, while he cynically shutters our three or four public institutions of higher learning? What is even more nauseating to painfully observe is the incontrovertible fact that of the four administrations that have, so far, constituted Ghana's Fourth Republic, the three most regressive and rudderless, as well as most corrupt, have all been headed by Mr. Rawlings and leaders directly and personally mentored by him.'

There is clear dissonance between the title of his article - by which a normal writer will capture the essence of the article written about - with his true objectives.

'I hate to say this but, nevertheless, feel compelled to say it: I really don't know whether this is an especial Akan thing or trait - and I am not the least bit perturbed, whatsoever, to be accused of the crime of ethnic chauvinism or tribalism - but it well appears as if Mr. Rawlings has absolutely no sense of shame or dignity.'

Yet we learn his inherent ethnic chauvinism, rather than the need to meet the true objective of contributing to national development through objective criticism, defines his outlandish utterances:

'The fact of the matter, though, is that no Akan leader (not even Mr. Kennedy Agyepong) talks quite like Mr. Rawlings. And that is an indisputable fact.'

The question arrises, has Okuampa Pee Aach Dee conducted an ethnic-based objective survey to ascertain the viewpoint of all Ghanaians in order to arrive at this conclusion? Can it not also be logically postulated that no one talks exactly like anyone in Ghana/Africa/world?

This is what I mean by surreal: 'I really don't know whether this is an especial Akan thing or trait.' Is there any such thing as 'an especially Akan trait' in modern Ghana?

Akans do not have the corner market on morality, principles or societal norms. In fact killing was our bread and butter even as of 1966 when Afrifa and Kufour undertook their bought and sold reasons for the 1966 coup. I am sure human lives were lost in 1966 and if being an Akan meant having any sense of shame and remorse people the likes of Okoampa-Ahoofe and Kufour would not be going around resurrecting bomb-throwers like Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and or anyone in the Danquah-Busia-Dombo traditions.
