The biggest lesson of Nelson Mandela's life is STEADFASTNESS in resistance to evil and CONTINUATION of the struggle for total liberation - especially in the economic area.
The West, having connived and collaborated and conspired with the forces of Apartheid from the very beginning and at every turn, has cleverly invented a whole mythology of forgiveness so that there is no inspiration of Mandela, the ANC and progressive humanity's resistance and struggle against apartheid and the Western economic interests that benefitted from and sustained Apartheid. Their trick is to turn the whole Southern African liberation struggle and epic sacrifice into a narrative of forgiveness and dialogue so as to not inspire any more militant Mandelas - especially as Mandela's dream is not completed. The whites still control the vast riches of South Africa with the collaboration of corrupt idiots like Jacob Zuma and others in the ANC as well as the Western multinationals that own and benefit from South Africa's riches.
The lesson of Nelson Mandela's life is if you don't struggle nothing will change and that we must continue with the struggle until equality and true liberation has been achieved. Yes, forgiveness is one of Mandela's and the Southern African liberation struggle's humanist character. But the struggle must continue. It's not yet Uhuru in South Africa when there are millions upon millions of impoverished blacks including the very miner's whose sweat and blood produces South Africa's vast mineral wealth. The struggle must continue so that corrupt and morally-bankrupt blacks in the ruling elite will not order the massacre in cold blood of the miners who have nothing. The burning spear of the martyrs - from Shaka Zulu to Chris Hani and the children of Soweto and the Sharpville demonstrators and the Marikana miners - must be borne aloft to strike the enemy once and for all!
