This is a very brilliant article. Ghanaians and Africans in general, especially self acclaimed socialist like Kwasi Pratt, are always quick to point out an accusing finger at our colonial legacy as the cause of our present economic predicament, instead of blaming our own corrupt and vision less leaders as the cause of our woes. Africans don't bear in mind that we live in a very competitive world and every country will fight tooth and nail to survive. china for example has transformed it's agrarian economy by leveraging their population as the trump card to success over the last thirty years. They did this by providing world class education , adequate energy supply and transferring most state owned companies to private hands. Now virtually every manufacturer in the world cannot compete on the global scale if it does manufacture it's goods in china. as Africans what have we been able to do in the past thirty years. Our leaders have only succeeded in stealing and stashing billions of dollars in foreign banks and destroying good infrastructure such as the railway networks and industries set up by the colonial governments. Our visionless and selfish leaders since the 1960s have been the cause of our woes, but not people like gurus berg.

Yes they were and are still part of our problems but that is not what this article is about.I just can't sit idly by while history is being rewritten right infront of us using our own people to write us further down into the abyss. The point of the fact is that Guggisberg and every single colonialist that set foot in Africa was complicit of stealing, looting, murdering and slave running.Attempts rewrite the some of the tarnish off them is not going to be met politely.I will tell you that much.

Of course for a troglodyte(cave-dweller) like you who speaks well of despotic colonialists who after enslaving us and freely exterminating an indeterminate number of rebellious African slaves running into the hundreds of thousands to millions, pilfering our wealth and tyrannizing us for hundreds of years, finally left our country with only a couple of rickety secondary schools, a health delivery system that was fit only to cater for their limited exclusive needs, a total lack of democratic practice and institutions, a huge debt and a bankrupt economy, it is alright for you and that other two-legged quadruped called Okoamapa to still look up to them with subservient respect. Your brains have been ruined by their evil oppression of Africa.
Human liabilities like you, as well as those who steal state property are the direct outcome of the bad governance of hundreds of years of colonial dictatorship.
Are you well-educated, are you a Christian, are you a human being? Why do you have such little respect for your own species? Even dogs, goats, cats cows, pigs and other animals respect their own kind.

I don't bother reading his articles as nothing good comes from him. He is anti everything except NPP and Akanism especially Akyem matters. We can see through him.

This Dog Eating Akyem scholar once told someone on these pages that he was a slave for using the slave master's name. But here we are with Okoampa, not only is he happily living in the slave master's country but also defending and praising one of the slave masters? This "Professor" is very contradictory, deranged and confused.

Gordon Guggisberg was nothing but an agent of the British colonial power brought into the country to oversee the systemic exploitation of the Gold Coast. Even the railway and road networks were PRIMARILY built to make it easy to transport raw materials, timber, gold etc etc to the ports and thence to the "mother" country the UK. Some foolish Ghanaians with misguided romantic notions about the colonial era seem to think that the pre independence era was a golden age.The Gold Coast was a country under subjugation whose primary usefulness was to supply cheap raw materials required by a colonial power period!

Let's quit divisive stances for personal reasons and fight to build Ghana. Aren't you worried corruption and mismanagement are incapable of being conquered in Ghana? We should be talking about how to remodel the judiciary so we could be able to hold accountable former presidents and their corrupt cohorts.
The son of the former president Abdulaye Wade, who held several ministerial posts during his father's tenure of the premier position in Senegal is in prison for 8 months now, and not even yet judged. That's what we should be doing in Ghana.

If Nkrumah was bad for Ghana as per Okoampa and all the other detached sociopaths who cannot accept that their experiment of rulers by tribal size and or superiority has failed then it would be up to them to accept blame for our current living standards and economic conditions
It's the least path to salvation that can come to those who allowed their ignorance to drive them to destroy Ghana in the hopes of creating a nation in their own bs ideals
