Hi Akilu,
You have stated that "Managing peace and justice is a delicate issue". That is absolutely false. Clear definition of "justice" and "peace" and everyone having a common understanding of the meanings of these two words is what is often the problem. To the NPP for instance "no justice not peace" and they define justice to mean only when they win the case in court. They forget often that "justice" is defined by the content of the 1992 constitution and the laws in our statute books. For instance do the laws and the constitution provide that no two pink sheets should have same serial numbers? If no why does the NPP think that about a million votes should be annulled simply because pink sheets have same serial numbers? Does the law say that when a Presiding Officer does not sign a pink sheet without giving either a written or an oral reason for doing so the results must be cancelled? If there is no such law why should the nine judges annul results simply because some POs have not signed those pink sheets but have not given either written or oral reason for their actions? See justice must be understood from what is the law and not what is the wish of a group of people. In countries where the laws are either not defined or are violated with impunity peace becomes elusive to them. In countries such as Ghana where the laws are clearly defined there will not be peace if some people try to impose their own definitions of the laws on the rest of the population.

Akilu got it all wrong. The fact that Akuffo Addo chose the option of going to Court did not really prevent mayhem. Majority of Ghanaians are peace loving people. Many of us would not die for someone to be President. Akilu should be reminded that the fact that the case is in court does not guarantee peace in Ghana. Peace would only be upheld if we all understand that Ghana cannot burn to fulfill the greed of one man becoming President. Mayhem would have only been posted to be erupted after the SC verdict. Akuffo Addo deserves no award and should rather be reprimanded for causing fear and panic and putting the security and peace of this beloved country into risk. There can still be war after the SC verdict.

What do you mean by voluminous and convincing evidence? What you view as convincing is your own understanding. What do you also maen by justice? Is justice served by annulling 4 million votes? What do you expect these voters to do? stand by and watch while their fundamental and costitutional rights to register and vote are being taken away through no fault of theirs, but by some officials negligently or deliberately refusing to do their work? What wrong have these 4 million voters done? Did they refuse to prsent themselves for biometrice registration at the time it was being done? Were they responsible for the failure of the machines to work in some cases? Were the results not declared at the polling stations where they voted for both their declared choices for President and parliamentary candidates? What are at all is this the NPP are seeking by saying the game has rules? Yes every game has rules, but if you have difficulty in enforcing these rules to the letter you do not punish any one through no fault of theirs. Was any polling sation officals forced to allow people to vote who were not following these rules? That is the type of situation which can call for annulment. Where even people voted though other means of verification, the constitution allows that. Rules of election do not precede constitutional principles. No one can be deprived of their right to vote through no fault of theirs.
