It is believe that, after establishing an industry or a business, it is up to that sector to take over itself. How many years now since Ghana railways began to operate? even with a single line, Ghanaians suppose to begin to see improvement in the line but, yet stupids Ghanaians are calling for the support of government to the railway industry. The money that they have been collecting, where is it? Government can`t create job for the sake of paying workers, we need to move forward by profiting from it. Please the profit made from single line should be used to improve it or develop the rest. Not just to be there stealing after stealing and at the end of the day crying for the government to support. Are we Ghanaians human beings? can we really think? do we really have something in our mind or it is just shallow head.?

A man and his wife check into a hotel. The husband wants to have a drink at the bar, but his wife is extremely tired so she decides to go on up to their room to rest. She lies down on the bed... just then, and elevated train passes by very close to the window and shakes the room so hard she's thrown out of the bed. Thinking this must be a freak occurrence, she lies down once more. Again a train shakes the room so violently, she's pitched to the floor. Exasperated, she calls the front desk, asks for the manager. The manager says he'll be right up. The manager is skeptical but the wife insists the story is true. "Look... lie here on the bed -- you'll be thrown right to the floor!" So he lies down next to the wife. Just then the husband walks in. "What," he says, "are you doing here!?!" The manager calmly replies, "Would you believe I'm waiting for a train?"
WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A TRAIN AT BOGOSO,HUNI VALLEY,BIBIANI,PRESTEA,DUNKWA- OFFIN.
WHEN WILL THE GOVERNMENT BRING THE CITIES BACK AS IT USED TO BE IN THE GLORY DAYS.

What is happening to the rehablitation of the national rail network in the country?Isn't it a shame to see railway lines converted into farms in many parts of the country? The state of the national rail network shows how useless governments have been in the managing of the economy.A disgrace to the nation indeed.Past governments and the present one as well as politicians must bow down their heads in shame. By failing to prioritize the rehablitaion of the national rail network to modern standards to play a positive role in the economic development of the country governments and politicians have betrayed the nation.

The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) has called on government to increase its funding to shore up the infrastructural deficit in the sector. The Authority has also asked the Finance Ministry to make timely releases of budgetary allocations to enable the GRDA to meet contractual obligations on current projects being undertaken to improve on facilities to enhance service delivery that would engender public confidence in rail transport.

Facts and facts, a provision must be given to Takoradi, Kumasi rail transportation sector first, reintroduction of new railway lines, restricting of the railway couches, restart over night rail transportation and conveyance of minerials from Ashanti mining areas to Takoradi port, secondi. These process for sure will create jobs, jobs and development and safe guard the limited good roads in the country. Therefore, please suspend the Accra projects for now and do the right by putting your money where your mouth is.

Govt has no excuse to delay this project. My advice goes to contractors from the north who will always sabotage both water transport to cart fuel to the north, becos of their tunker services should stop and allow govt to provide this cheap water transport and rail so that poverty can be reduced in the north.
unfortunately they have succesed in lieing to the villagers that they care though they do not care.Ask why is it that still they cannot help the people.politicians have betrayed the citizens, what right has the railways director to sell govt lands?this men are sabotires to the nation.what right has Rawlings to sell Meat marketing which gave thousands of job to a church which is not paying even tax.to turn it into promotional center changing fees to church members.were is IRS?That plot could build over 2000 high rise houses for the citizens.

It is good to hear that train stations and lines are being renovated from our own resources.
Rehabilitation of the railway system must be priority. The Accra-Tema railway line should be fully rehabilitated and used to run a regular, frequent service. This, together with the Accra-Nsawam line, would ease the transportation problems in Accra. The park and ride scheme is excellent.
The Accra-Takoradi-Kumasi lines must be rehabilitated to facilitate transportation of our export products from the hinterland to the ports. Rail transport would also help farmers in remote rural areas gain access to urban markets, boosting agriculture and moderating food prices. Public transportation would also be enhanced.
Let us utilise our own resources as far as possible, and stop the dependence on foreign investment.
The rehabilitation of our railways must be a national priority!

Sankofa hit the nail on the head. Hope the rail development agenda involves intra- and inter-regional and cross country lines. Immense opportunity for direct and indirect job creation and allied development. GRDA well done.

Rail development should seen as a national priority. Mass public transport and demonstrates 'Service to the People'. The country should have an institution ot railway engineering.
