Kwesi, there's nothing like "Silent Corruption"! Corruption is just corruption, where does the "silent" come in? Corruption in most cases in not overt as it operates in secrecy yet the effects are discernible.

I like Lungu's FOIB gong gong beating - we all at one time or the other called for it, but this article just a prop-up exponent of the obfuscation called "Silent Corruption".
Mahama should quit giving spurious definitions and start firing people in the VRA, ECG and all other state-owned institution that have never functioned well given the resources they have in their disposition.

Surely you cannot be serious. This is simply a show-off. The words "silent" and "corruption" have been in common usage for many many years! Long before the "New Media" and the internet generation. That put together, 'silent corruption' has been 'borrowed' as a 'jargon' and is commonly used within your particular field does not make it "exclusive".
I fundamentally disagree with your criticism of the president of Ghana's usage of that expression. I am afraid there is no monopoly in the use of words or terms to describe things within particular contexts. That is what is beautiful about the English language which those of you in America choose to 'destroy' in some way. Surely he was using this in context which you have conveniently ignored. This is grossly unfair and disingenuous on your part.
Why, e.g. I've heard expressions like "marriage of convenience" "political marriage" e.g. being used to describe the coalition between Liberal Democrats and Conservatives in the United Kingdom.
In short, we should not be pedantic about these things and if you claim to be "Ghana-Proud", I fail to see that in your condemnation of the president when I would have expected you rather to examine the substance of his speech on an issue which is rather serious and affecting us as a nation.

I should agree with you again as per the contents of this article but the president unveiling other adjectives to highlight what we know of corruption in Ghana does nothing more to [emphasis] as far as substance concerned.

Corruption exists so huge in Ghana that a child born today is immediately conscious of its impact and myriad scars. The previous governments just heightened the reality, which some of us believe Mahama should begin to address with immediate effect and with all the momentum it warrants if we stand to see his relevance as the driver in command of the weird historical embodiment called Ghana. That is, instead of interminable refrains here and there we need to see the practicability and objectivity of his ideas.

Prof Lungu and his team,
I am pleased to find people like you who believe that it is bribery and corruption that have brought extreme poverty to us in the West Africa sub region. Because bribery and corruption are rampant in high places, there is no one to make the civil service accountable and public services are rotten. Rest assured that you will find people to join you who will work tirelessly to eliminate bribery and corruption when there is good government in place to take Africa forward. We shall overcome.
