It is exceedingly clear that the civil servants are more corrupt than the ministers, specially directors and chief directors across the board. The government should tackle them as well.
You are 100% right Mr Peace Broker.

I do not think Ganaians are sensitive enough to understand your point. They raised the issue over politican challenges. Their narrow mind will not allow them to think broader.

This is a foolish thought. Let me tell you this president Mahama has no single Right to wpie out the Military. The army was there even B4 the birth of his great great great gound father. If he has a problem, than he has to wake up and do the right thing. He stle himself to power and his intension is underminig him now, so let him dance to the rythem now. A child that dose not allow his parent (mother) to sleep shall also not sleep.
How can this Guy, been the cief executive of the higher office in Ghana accord himself with prestige? who thought him how to file Taxes? If this is some thing he wants to be oprestinal in Ghana, why dont he involve every body, or all the civil servants.
There is a reggie music whic goes like this " He the voice of the Rasterman chanting..., Babylone rise and fall"
Ghana is aiming towards it down fall once again. No matter what you say, its in the open air. Untill the truth is discovered by all, there is a great opprtunity opened for the resuffle of the entire system controlling our beloved nation.
Flt. Lt. JJ Rawlings has come to do his, now its the turn for some one to also lift up the bunner of Justice and freedom for all.
how can a nation, almost a hundread years independence, still found itself in bondage? sill in the bottomless pit?
Allow people to speak their mind for the truth shall always make us free.
How dose this nation share its economic wealth? How can coruption be on the table of this fake politicans every morning as Tea and batter?
Some thing really ought to be done!
Let those who have ears hear, and those who are deaf dance and walk arround like fools for one day for the thief, and the other day for the court.

It's true that when the head moves the rest of the body follows. If a sector is quagmired then any corrective measure must start from the top because subordinates' failure is a failure of leadership. Some of the leaders are square pegs in round holes and are mere confections of the political machinery.
As with the people so are their leaders. Most people in Ghana have fallen in love with materialism and measure success in terms of material acquisitions. They want to keep up with the Joneses so everyone is making a mint with nothing to show for results except living in opulent comfort.
The small guys become cogs in the machine that govern us because they use someone else's corruption, someone else's flagrant boldness for tardiness and skipping work as the reasons for not taking action themselves.
Thus far we've managed to develop a stoical indifference to work. Some among us have only worked for 2 years but have been paid for 20 years of work(1992-2012). Who keeps the tabs on the receipts after we've set the performance bar too low for ourselves? None !
We may not be genuinely interested in economic chaos but our work ethics and actions so far indicate economic chaos may be interested in us.
It's time to get back to the salt mines if we've aspirations to get the economy back in the saddle.
We have lost respect for the Law of the Harvest and reaped where we've not sown. It's fair for those who have caused the problem to take the bad rap for poor work performance.
Our nation's workforce, especially in the public sector is a team and our team members need to understand that we rise and fall together. We must not allow any team member or group to throw the spanner in our works.
It's time to reward hardwork. It's time to introduce the time clock at the job environment. It's time to set the standards and expectations. It's time for accountability. It's time to do away with cronyism.

I totally agree with your point of view. We need to hold our elected and appointed officials accountable and to a higher standard.

You hit the nail right on the devil's head. Our problem is attitudinal. Lets face it; how many hours do we pitch in at work everyday in our various departments? By close of day, one would have done about 3 to 4 hours and yet at "moon die" you can not beat this guy at the bank. S/he is there first to cash what s/he has not sowed. Should a day be a rainy one, work is called off in Ghana not to talk of the numerous lunch breaks that are taken for good.
We need to change our attitudes especially now that the Single spine salary structure has been implemented. We need to show productivity to commensurate what we earn.

We all have a part to play in the attitude change that is so needed.
