This is exactly what I detest about aid from the US and the West: the money is donated entirely for propaganda political purposes. The Communists of the old days weren't so bald.

Does Ghana not already have an extensively developed political system? Does it not already have
higher voter participation rates than any federal state of the US?
But let's talk about the small grants. "Women empowerment" does not mean anything as concrete as, say, more women's health clinics. "Youth development" doesn't mean technical institutions, or providing expertise on where to build new factories to reduce youth unemployment. No, these grants won't facilitate any of this, nor were ever meant to.
This is just another way for a DC-NW based outfit to publish another
glossy report on "spreading democracy," and, in the meanwhile,
dump their unpaid interns into a deprived third world environment to add another bullet point to their resumes.
