  Very unfortunately those who must read this article are busy stealing and dont even know how to access the internet. Take an honest survey to prove me wrong. They construct urban highways with no pedestrian cross-bridges or turn-offs for drivers and wonder why there are traffic jams. Idiots

  YES,WE BEG OTHER NATIONS FOR MONEY TO BE ABLE TO PAY 275 LAWMAKERS! IN A FEW MORE YEARS WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME 30 MORE ADDED TO THE NUMBER JUST BECAUSE THE CONSTITUTION SAYS WE MUST DO IT!!!

What our judges, lawyers, parliamentarians, journalists and public intellectuals do and say is truly laughable, a tragic comedy. They are busy citing article this and article that, getting all worked up about procedures about procedures about...while the country is immersed in darkness, bereft of water, light, air, food and the most elementary necessities of life. Weep for the beloved land.

  Will you say the justices are violating the rules? If not, then our only battle is to fight for the modification of the existent laws. What we cannot do is to side-step the current ones to satisfy our desires for a speedy trial.

  The riles of the court were imposedby the justices themselves. At any time if they deem the rules to be antiquated and not serving the needs of the country they CAN revise the rules. I reallky do not see your appologies

  Excellent article and others have said so in different ways. Whichever way one looks at it we are not capable of government. We do not have the skills, temperament, humility and empathy to govern. Our leaders and managers are from the same source and who ever is there will not make a great deal of difference. We just do not have it in us. For a country where just about the only educational courses are management, we cannot manage anything. We are full of hubris and pride that only Ghanaians should run the country, capable or not. They come from the same universities have the same values and experience and often just local experience and none understand what they are there for. How is it that after 55 years of sovereignty we still cannot feed our selves from our own produce, provide water and electricity for all. Politicians rule by rhetoric. we have idiots, so called foot soldiers following the two parties and doing their dirty deeds. We are obsessed with religion and bogus priests and bishops who terrify the politicians and the entire country at large and extort from their congregation. Unfortunately that is the truth and no amount of exhortations will change the truth. Frederick Lugard, later Lord Lugard , the arch colonialist and Governor General of Nigeria during the 1st world war, told our own Gordon Guggisberg before he was sent to Gold Coast in 1919, " it is likely that the black man will be incapable of self government in 100 years, it will take a great deal longer" It is easy to say they were racists and colonialists and indeed they were, not so much Guggisberg who did a great deal for the Gold Coast. But Lugard was right and it is a truth difficult to swallow. They were, nevertheless all patriots for their country. They pillaged for their country and their only rewards were titles, knighthoods, lord etc. Our leaders including bogus religious leaders pillage for them selves and have always done from the time of independence.

  I hope you are not just preaching gospel and then practicing evil some where Mr. author, because it looks and sounds like you have written a superb article which has indicated lack of sympathy and or empathy on the part of all us as a nation. Selfishness and greediness cannot be left out as part of our national problems. Do not blame just the government officials or call it the politicians, blame the citizens or voters who vote them into office only to seek favor for themselves and their families. You come out of school with the qualificaions and you don't have anyone help you get a job, you would be left at the train station forever while some one with no passing results or may before the results comes out would have a lucrative job doing. I have been through that when I finished school (RAACO) at Accra New Town in 1976. Some of us were like a waste especially when you are from a different tribe to the tribe of whoever is in charge of hiring in an institution or company you are applying for the job. Some of us never had the chance to work in Ghana, but in foreign countries we did. Like is happening now, our traditional chiefs are against the appointement of a visually impaired nominee who has all the qualifications and or experience to expedite his assigned duties with the help of his lieutenants. In this case, are the traditional chiefs politicians? A religious man making false prophecy about our president (I wish I were the president) and a politician calling for an all die be die situation in the country because he figured he was losing.

You mentioned Lee Kwan Yu, and my question for you is, judging from Lee Kwan Yu's history, what do you think would have happened to UP, NPP, and the likes of those days, and all the bomb throwers who were actively engaged in nation-wrecking?
