Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene has explained why he maintains connection with young people, particularly those he grew up with.

Speaking to the youth of PIWC Asokwa during the climax of their National Youth Week celebration on September 27, 2026, Dr Amoakohene said, “When you see me mingling with the youth and giving them opportunities, it’s because they are the people I’m growing together with.”

He added that young people should not become so consumed by their new positions such that they forget those who supported them on their journey.

“If you leave them behind, become engrossed in the temporary position and start living big, by the time you realise it, ‘Na w’akyi gu hɔ,’” he said.

Dr Amoakohene therefore encouraged the youth to grow together and create opportunities for one another rather than allowing status to create a distance between them.
