Presidential staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has opened up about her strained relationship with former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

According to her, the former Chief Justice has repeatedly ignored her at public events, despite the two having been good friends in the past.

Speaking in an Asempa FM interview on September 17, 2026, Jantuah said she first met Torkornoo at a National Peace Council conference, where they interacted well and exchanged contacts.

She added that she had called to congratulate Torkornoo after her appointment as Chief Justice, but their relationship later changed.

She said that on several occasions, Torkornoo ignored her when she greeted her in public.

“She was my good friend, but anytime we come across each other in public, and I greet her, she ignores me and gives me attitude. I will not tell lies,” she said.

Jantuah recalled an occasion when she contacted Torkornoo to draw her attention to an issue, but said the response she received made her feel that their relationship had changed.

“One day, I called her because I wanted to prompt her about something that was happening, and she gave me attitude, asking me why I was calling her,” she stated.

Nana Yaa Jantuah said she later tried to maintain cordial relations when they met at a funeral, but claimed the former Chief Justice again ignored her.

“I bowed to Torkornoo because she had become Chief Justice, just to greet her, but she didn’t acknowledge me,” she recalled.

She added that a similar incident happened at another event, which she said influenced her decision to speak publicly about issues involving the former Chief Justice.

Nana Yaa Jantuah stressed that she does not consider Torkornoo her enemy but believes the former Chief Justice had chosen to distance herself from her.

She said she eventually decided to respond in the same manner after several attempts to greet her were ignored.

“She repeated the same attitude at another event; that is why, when her issue came up, I decided to speak about it because of her behavior. How do you see me in public and snub me? What did I do to you?” she asked.
