There was chaos at the studios of Lawson TV during the September 2, 2026, episode of “Lawson Afisem,” a programme that seeks to resolve domestic and relationship disputes, as a man, his partner and his mother clashed during the show.

The confusion arose after a young woman, identified as Maame Akua, brought her partner, Awuni Wilberforce, to the programme after being in a relationship with him for 16 years and having five children together.

Maame Akua complained that Awuni had refused to take responsibility for their five children and had also failed to marry her despite their 16-year relationship.

She questioned why, “after 16 years together and five children, he still refuses to marry me.”

Awuni Wilberforce, who was invited onto the show to present his side of the story, appeared with his mother. However, tempers quickly flared, making it difficult for the parties to calmly present their concerns.

Awuni accused Maame Akua of allegedly having intimate relationships with multiple men, including a close friend of his whom he identified as Sakora.

According to Awuni, the alleged relationships had influenced his decision not to marry her.

He maintained that “I cannot marry someone who sleeps around; she slept with Sakora, a friend; ask her if I am lying.”

The allegations immediately triggered a heated exchange among Awuni, Maame Akua and his mother, with the parties trading insults and using unprintable words against one another on the programme.

The situation became even more intense when Awuni’s mother threatened Maame Akua, warning her, “I will not allow you to insult me.”

Both women also accused each other of engaging in prostitution as the confrontation spiralled out of control.

At one point, the heated exchange overshadowed the purpose of the programme, with the parties struggling to maintain their composure.

The confrontation eventually disrupted the programme, forcing the host to intervene and bring the session to an end.

The host directed the parties to resolve their differences at a later time, while reminding them that the children must come first.

The host further urged Awuni and Maame Akua to put their differences aside and focus on the welfare and proper care of their five children.
