Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has vowed to publish the full contents of his petition against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng if the petition is dismissed.

Kpebu said the petition, which has been forwarded to the Chief Justice for consideration, has stalled due to what he described as a political settlement.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com on September 1, 2026, he said efforts by some individuals to intervene in the matter had prevented the process from moving forward.

“Yeah, so what has happened is that we are unable to move forward because it’s been put on ice because of a certain political settlement. People went to beg the president,” he said.

Kpebu confirmed that the petition had been forwarded to the Chief Justice but stressed that it was not among the petitions recently identified as having failed to establish a prima facie case.

“No, mine is not part. Those that were part, they put that out in the public,” he noted.

He insisted that his petition contained serious allegations against the Special Prosecutor and therefore should not be dismissed.

“Evans, don’t joke. Mine is a strong dossier. There’s no way you can throw that petition out,” Kpebu stated.

The lawyer warned that he would make the petition public if the case was dismissed.

“The day that petition will be thrown out, the next day I’ll publish it, and you’ll see that it can’t be thrown out,” he said.

Kpebu said he was willing to allow the current process to continue despite the delay, describing himself as a practical person.

“It’s okay, the manner in which it’s being held now. I’m a practical person,” he stated.

He also suggested that Agyebeng could bring the matter to an end by voluntarily resigning from office.

“But look, let’s see. Maybe eventually Kissi Agyebeng will come to terms with his conduct and just honourably resign,” he said.

Kpebu maintained that regardless of how the matter progresses, his petition should not be dismissed.

“But you can’t throw that petition out. If it gets thrown out, I will publish it,” he stressed.
