Netizens have expressed outrage over a viral video of a young man captured being flogged by a man and some residents after he was allegedly caught having an affair with a married woman.

In the video shared on X on Sunday, August 16, 2026, the young man was seen been assaulted by the residents before he was later tied to a pillar with a rope.

The audio in the background of the video, captured the voice of a man who claimed to be the husband of the woman the victim allegedly had the affair with.

The man could be heard demanding a confession from the victim amid the beating.

“Say it to the hearing of everyone that you had intimacy with my wife,” he is heard saying.

As the interrogation and assault continued, one of the residents asked the victim if he was a teacher; to which he answered in the affirmative.

“You are a teacher and so, what! Who should marry a woman for you to be having an affair with in their own matrimonial home?” an angry resident accused him.

The victim could be heard repeatedly denying that he didn't know she was married, but the flogging continued despite his pleas.

Netizen have strongly condemned the attack with many calling for the immediate arrest of the husband and residents over the assault.

“It could be that the woman lied to him,” one user said.

“The police should arrest them all,” another user fumed.
