One lady in my class back in the day used to be very fluent in English, could even slair when she hadn't even traveled before yet her position in class used to be last 10 always. so yes , she was bright linguistically, but many weaknesses were spot on at areas like Mathematics , Science and the rest. so clear of that mentality from your head and don't challenge anybody based on English grammar.
