An eight-month-pregnant 14-year-old girl is seeking the public’s assistance to locate the father of her unborn child and compel him to take responsibility for her until she gives birth.
According to Zakari Fati, the alleged father of the child, identified as Ibrahim, a driver, has refused to accept responsibility after accusing her of having relationships with other men.
Speaking on Ahenfie TV’s Ahenfie Nkommo, a programme that resolves domestic disputes, Fati explained that her mother, Hajia, initially disapproved of her relationship with Ibrahim and insulted him, warning him not to have any relationship with her daughter.

However, Fati said she loved Ibrahim and therefore ran away from home to stay with him for one week.
“When he came to my house, my mother said she would not agree to the relationship, so she insulted him and he left. But I ran away from home to stay with him for one week. Later, he told me to tell my mother that I had been kidnapped and that was why I was missing.
“However, my mother said I was lying and had him arrested. I testified that it was not true that I didn't go to him, so the police released him. My mother later incurred a debt of GH¢5,000,” she said.
Fati further stated that a male friend who lived near Ibrahim’s house once went there during a rainfall while Ibrahim was away at work and spent the night there.
According to her, Ibrahim later confronted her, claiming he had received information that she was having an affair with the man and therefore he was no longer interested in continuing the relationship.
She said she subsequently stayed away from home with friends for about five months. During that period, she discovered that she was pregnant. However, when she and her mother informed Ibrahim about the pregnancy, he denied responsibility.
Fati further disclosed that Ibrahim and his father later visited their house and claimed that, apart from the first man she had been accused of having a relationship with, she had allegedly been involved with another man as well. As a result, they argued that all three men should support her until she gives birth.
“When his father came with him to our house, he said that because I had slept with two other guys, all of them should take care of me until I give birth so that a DNA test can be conducted to determine the father of the child,” she added.
