President John Dramani Mahama has once again become the centre of discussion online following his ongoing official visit to Jamaica.
In a video shared on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on August 5, 2026, President Mahama drew laughter from dignitaries and guests during a state dinner after noticing fufu and okro soup on the menu.
Upon spotting the Ghanaian delicacy, the President jokingly remarked that he was eager to conclude his speech so he could enjoy the meal.

“I don’t intend to speak much longer. If you look at the menu card, the first item is okro soup and fufu. I am yearning to get started,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience.
President Mahama also spoke about the strong ties between Ghana and Jamaica, describing the relationship between the two nations as enduring and deeply rooted.
He expressed optimism that the partnership between both countries would continue to grow stronger.
“May God bless Jamaica. May God bless Ghana. Long live the enduring bonds between our two peoples. May God bless Jamaica and Ghana, and long live the enduring bonds between our great nations,” he added.
