An Accra High Court has granted a 10-day interim injunction restraining former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo from proceeding with the funeral and burial of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

The order follows an application filed by the Kristo Asafo Mission over matters relating to the estate of its late founder.

The injunction comes amid a dispute within the Safo family over who has the legal mandate to organise the burial and carry out the late industrialist’s final wishes.

The funeral was scheduled to take place on July 30, 2026, at Gomoa Mpotua in the Central Region, while a national farewell was expected to be held at the Independence Square in Accra on July 31, 2026.

The late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, was a renowned Ghanaian industrialist and inventor known for his work in automobile manufacturing, technology, and innovation.

The court’s order will remain in force for 10 days as the parties await further determination of the matter.
