A mother of four, Emelia, is seeking to end her 15-year relationship with Akwasi Boakye, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, over what she describes as persistent physical abuse in their home.

Speaking about their relationship in an interview on Lawson Afisem on lawson TV, a show that resolves domestic issues on July 4, 2026, Emelia said she had two children before she began dating Akwasi. The couple later agreed to live together and subsequently had two boys of their own.

According to her, Akwasi initially fulfilled his responsibilities as a father and partner. However, she alleged that after some time, his behaviour changed and he began assaulting her over what she described as the slightest provocation.

Emelia said she has now decided to end the relationship following a recent altercation. She alleged that Akwasi accused her of having an affair with a galamsey operator, an accusation she denied. She claimed the accusation led to another physical assault, after which she informed him that she no longer wished to continue the relationship.

She further alleged that whenever her mother intervenes in their disputes, Akwasi responds by insulting her.

"We don't talk properly. The only time we have a conversation is when he wants to have sex. That is when he becomes calm and pampers me. He even gives me money, but when issues arise, he takes the money back."

Emelia also alleged that Akwasi is unable to satisfy her sexually, claiming that this issue had been discussed between them previously.

"He can't satisfy me in bed. That is why my mother told me I should sleep outside. The two of us are in the room, so I know what goes on there. He is not able to satisfy me and I have told him before. I can't continue with you anymore."

Responding to the allegations, Daddy Lumba denied the claims, insisting that Emelia was disgracing him with false accusations.

He also rejected the allegation concerning their intimate life, stating that sex is one of his favourite aspects of the relationship and claiming that he enjoys having sex with his partner every day.
